Interesting question.
What is sin, do you think?
I believe that when you knowingly do something that causes harm to other people, that is sin.
So, if you have an abundance, and you know people are starving, and you don't do anything about it...
If you know your brother is in need, and you don't meet that need...is it a sin?
I'm afraid the answer is "YES"!
Jesus would say..."if you have not done it for the least of these...you have not done it for Me!"

There are staving people in the world is not a question but a statement. Putting an ! and then a ? still doesn't make it a question, Questions start with who, what, when or where, which, why, the w words. If there be exceptions they still don't make your statement a question.
As for the next part; having abundance and tithing isn't what makes you a sinner, for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

no, he was a sinner anyway. The Kingdom isn't for sale. Money will not buy your way in.
Now, if this is your attitude that money gets you off the hook, then you have clearly missed the point. that may be a sin.
The tab is paid for buddy!
Do not forget the story of the old lady that gave her last and only coin. She gave the most, all she had. Not from an abundance.
But give away, your deed will not go in vain.
Spend your abundance wisely.

When you believe anyone even the super-greedy national banks have enough money to prevent world hunger you misunderstand the problem. While greed is the root of the problem LUST (over-breeding) is the cause of world hunger. There are already too many people on this planet to feed (and care for) and as long as indiscriminate copulation continues the world will have hunger, disease, and human suffering. There is no part of the globe that does not have more people than it can reasonably support with the resources at hand and the problem will only get worse.
I dislike the draconian techniques that the Chinese government is using to control their population but in human terms it seems to be the only humane way. Even God will use a similar method to prevent further suffering but he will use a much different sorting criterion.

Why would you ask this! There are starving people in this world yet the female continues to give birth. They never learn to farm. They don't move out of the areas that won't grow things. They say it exist in America but I don't see how or why. If you have it and give it away you will be one of them. Giving your tithe is helpful only to your church and area. You can't do it all. Jesus came so you could have life in abundance. Don't fret. Not sinful.

Absolutely not. It's those who have and even some that don't that give from their heart and earn the respect doing their part and more. How can anyone be a sinner just because he was able to have more? People work hard, get educated, and go out in the world to make their way. Bless those who give back. And there are many.

It's certainly not a sin to have wealth. But in terms of how much to give, I don't know --- this is something I've thought a lot about. I think what makes it a challenging question is that Americans who think that they are just scraping by are wealthy compared to many impoverished people around the world. So the question of how much is waste is a really difficult one.
I like very much the idea of tithing (and do it myself) but I think it's also important to:
A) Give to anyone who asks you. This is what the Lord says to do and Christians who don't do this confuse me.
B) Ask the Lord to specifically lead you about when and how much and to whom to give over and above your tithe. I have a friend who carries around blank envelopes in her purse so that she may give anonymously whenever the Lord tells her to do so. (For example, if she sees someone at a restaurant and He tells her to give, she puts the money in an envelope and asks the waitress to give it to the person). I think this is good and even necessary (though not necessarily the envelope part ;) )

Who says it's a sin to have an abundance? If that abundance is because of child workers in your sweat shop then yes, that's a sin. Or if you aren't willing to help the poor at all, then yes, that's a sin.

There are starving. Jesus even said that there would be poor. I believe if you tithe, and give offerings (more), then you aren't a sinner. To those that are good stewards, god will give more. So I would say you are blessed, not a sinner.

If you are talking about yourself, and feeling guilty because you've got a few bucks, I guess you can give it all away and become an impoverished bum, living in a cardboard box under a bridge somewhere. Then what? Will you feel better because you will end up being on the receiving end of somebody else's handouts?
