You can stay in the shower for an hour if you want, you just don't want to submerge it in water (such as swimming or taking a bath). After one week you want to start applying lotion to the tattoo. Apply as often as you feel that the tattoo is dry. Make sure it's an unscented lotion. Good luck!

I have a chest, stomach, back piece and am sleeved out, some of which i took care of poorly and they look horrible....bled lines, faded color etc.
I think "aquaphor" works the best, put on a very light coat...dab it a bit with papertowels so theres not to much cause if you keep it to moist it will peal and you'll loose color
use aquaphor for 2 or 3 days
then use curel hand lotion the rest of the time, just rub it in whenever its getting a tad dry, if you do it right you will have minimal peeling, no scabbing and aweseom radiant color.

I have always been told to gently clean the area with soap, and pat dry after your shower. I apply lotion twice a day to mine while they are healing. Always keep it protected from the sun with a good SPF and then lotion as needed, I still do mine once a day. Good Luck!

you should continue to moisturize it until the tattoo feels the same as the rest of the skin. after that you should still keep it moisturized in order to keep it looking nice. also be sure to keep your tattoo out of the sun at all cost!!! you can shower as often and as long as you want but you shouldn't scrub it with anything yet, still just use soap and your fingertips.
good luck!

well first off you have to keep it moist. the saying is "whenever its dry its time to apply" so just make sure its moist until its fully healed. healing takes about 2weeks.
