T4 cells are a subset of the T lymphocytes, which is a class of lymphocytes that are involved in the immune system for developing antibodies to fight an infection. T4 is thyroxine which is produced by the thyroid gland. There are a couple of hormones that the thyroid gland produces, T3 which is Triiodothyronine, and T4. T3 and T4 are a short hand nomenclature for naming these hormones and have nothing to do with T4 cells.
