I have a hard lump slightly larger then a pea in my right cheek right above my jawline. i've been to two different doctors(at different times) for it and both just gave me antibiotics(which didn't do anything) and sent me home. it's been there for a long time, and hasn't gotten much larger. any ideas on what this might be would be appreciated. thanks.

Coley: i've been to two different docs in two states, and been pretty much blown off by both of them, "it's a clogged duct so take these antibiotics, and don't worry about it."

when i said i've had it a long time, i mean in the range of 15 yrs,(i was either 15 or 16 when i noticed it).

i'm planing on going to a different doc when finances allow. i'm not too worried about it, i would like to know what it is tho, and the docs i've been to really don't seem to care.

it's not something i can look at it's inside my cheek. it's just a hard round ball. when i first noticed it it was about the size of a pea, now it's a little bit bigger then that. it hasn't changed shape just gotten a little bit bigger. i'll be going to a new doctor when our insurance from hubby's job kicks in, and will be as pushy as i need to about getting it checked out. it doesn't go away it's just there........

It could be a tumor/neoplasm in the salivary gland. Has the Dr. done XRAY of the area? CT? Or maybe there is a clogged salivary duct. Be proactive it is your health. Go back to the Dr and tell him you want a Xray to check for a growth in the salivary gland

It could also be a build up like a calcification. If the Dr. has not done a CT or Xray I would find another Dr. Get into the new Dr. Tell him you are not leaving until an Xray is done period!

Is there anyway that it is a cyst? Like a pimple gone bad? Has it changed in size or shape? Does it go away and come back?

Since it doesn't go away I would be concerned, it has grown. Be persistent and please email me when you find out what is going on. You can click on my pic and send me a message. I would really like to know the findings. Good luck This is your health! Be a bully with the Dr if you have to. What state are you in?
