another thing: blacks have fought hard to win our wars, voluntarily, not drafted. martin luther king, jr. was way ahead of his time, which is why he was assassinated--if he had not been killed, your people and my [white] people (who had nothing to do w/slavery at all) would now be far more united, working together, because i was in HS when he was the major reformer of race relations in this country...peaceful reform. none of the blacks bused to my school were nasty or mean & we never held a thing against them (but i think too that reverse busing should have been done) ... until ML king was murdered. then the black power movement sort of ruined it for blacks that wanted to live in peace w/other americans, white americans, due to so much open hatred against whites by blacks.
you are right: the more americans, whatever color, take jobs that are so often given to illegal aliens, the more none of us will allow them to suck us dry, and the more whites will respect blacks, who have come such a great, long way into being educated and getting out of the ghetto.
the two things that i think hurt blacks (african americans if it's so important) are:
1. reverse racism against whites;
2. attitudes that you will see if you watch "Read a Book" that is currently at YouTube.com--it makes blacks look so low life.

It doesn't. Equal protection under the law and all that.
But, there are factors that make hiring illegals (of whatever race) an attractive proposition to the unscrupulous employer. It's not just a matter of being able to pay a lower wage, there are many labor-protection laws and worker's rights that an be conveniently ignored when the worker in question is unwilling to report such abuses for fear of deportation.

Most of us do not favor the Hispanics over the native Blacks. The one thing that the Hispanics have going for them is they will work like a lake full of beavers(generalization) for the most part. The Blacks who were born here (again a generalization) want every thing handed to them and very few will work. They think they are due reparations for things that happened several generations ago and that attitude shows in everything they do and say. The biggest shock I got in the military was when I ran into some ****** who did not act, talk, think that way. One of my closest shipmates father was a Naval Academy graduate who was stationed in Africa as a Naval Attache while my buddy was growing up. He said many times "that selling his umpteen times great grandparents into slavery was the best thing the local tribal leaders did for him." He hated Africa and everything about it with a passion. He claimed that many of the people in the towns he lived in had come out of the bush the week he got there and not one of them knew what soap was much less clothing.

I live in Miami, and their was a article recently in the paper that said because of lack of opportunities in Miami, that many of the black middle class are moving to Broward county, which is the next county over. I fear this is a sign of things to come. The white non Hispanic middle class has been leaving for some time because Miami is becoming mostly a Spanish speaking city, with limited opportunities for English speakers

So, what you are saying is white people got a free ride here on a nice big old grand ship. Though, to let you know that we our all on the same ship, so its hide time to get past the race thing and start working as a team to fix this country. We should not be fighting over the scraps from the tables of congress, instead we should be knocking on their doors at night 24/7 letting them know they work for us! Our jobs are leaving this country and yet we our all just looking the other way! Its not my job, thus I dont have to worry about it.

I couldn't have said it better myself!!! I just can't wait to read the comments of pro-illegals to see what they have to say about your question.
Addition... Jim H... I am from California & have been Downtown L.A. & Blacks are not the only ones sitting & waiting for a hand-out. Most of the people who live there are Hispanic anyway, so... get your facts straight. Those same Hispanics wait for our taxes to recieve Welfare benefits also. There are also White people there too (waiting for handouts). How dare you just say the Black race is lazy & the same thing doesn't apply to any other race downtown. How racist can you be. Not all Mexicans are hard working & that goes for every other race. You seem very ignorant to put laziness on a complete race.

What do you mean by US. You make it sound like this a government policy. You can't blame a whole country for some people's racism. Also you need to take a walk downtown L.A. There are a whole lot of blacks sitting down there waiting for a handout and refusing to work while the Hispanics are working jobs they turned down. I don't believe illegal aliens should be allowed to stay here but I also don't believe it's their responsibility not to take a job just because someone else "MIGHT" want it. If you want to work in this country you can and people need to stop blaming their laziness on racism.
Tylergrl: since you are a coward and don't allow people to respond to you by email I will do it here. STOP PUTTING WORDS IN MY MOUTH! Inever said that that there wasn't whites and hispanics down there. They are there and a lot of them are lazy too. I adressed the question to blacks because that was how it was asked.Maybe your intelligence level doesn't allow you to understand this. The reason I know so much about this is that I made some bad decisions and ended up down there homeless with them. I know these people very well and I still go back and see some of them. The key is I didn't blame someone else for my being there and I didn't wait for someone else to get me out. My mistakes put me there and my hard work got me out, and it was nobody elses responsibilty to get me out. I am living proof that homeless people don't need government handouts to get back on their feet. Some of the people down there did not get there by being lazy but a great many did and a great many are still there because they are lazy. Please don't ever judge me again or try and put words in my mouth unless you know me and what I've been through.

Democrats want a new voting block and Republicans want cheap labor. What ever happened to leaders willing to do the right thing regardless? It proves that character matters most in a candidate.

Dude, Thank You for seeing what I live with here in Arizona.
Blacks get blamed for crimes that they don't even commit because cops are not supposed to ask the immigration status of a Mexican. Illegals steal cars, or steal license plates and drive without insurance. They steal SS#'s. Citizens don't need to.
Bottom line and the most important thing for everyone to remember is: BLACKS ARE AMERICAN CITIZENS. We should take care of our own.
It's not about color, it's about being freaking Patriotic. Obama wants to give them all amnesty! Beware of that.
Enough with snatching my tax dollars and giving them to Mexico!
