What the " " did you do that for?
Suppose it depends who "caught" you..
"What you going do, What you going do, when they come for you?"
If it was the bus driver, most likely he'll take it up with the school. Could give you garbage detail. Wouldn't that be a swift kick.
Don't really know rules of school bus except no fighting, harassing, throwing litter out the window.
In my State it's a $250.00 fine. Don't pay, get warrant if Sheriff/Police caught you unless they give you a break, but don't count on it.
Remember for future, now people have cell's and can call and report you that way too. They could report anything for that matter.
Other wise don't know. Take you pick .....

Yes, fine for littering. And I suppose the school could deny you permission to ride the bus from now on if they wanted, but that would be a separate and additional penalty to littering. Littering is a matter for the police and courts, bus riding is up to the School.

You could get charged with littering and if your unable to pay a big fine you might have to do community hours, picking up garbage. You might not be allowed on the bus ever again. That's probably the worst they can do.

They could hang you up over bamboo and turn on the grow lights, but they won't. They will tell you you are an irresponsible person who should know better, and they are right.
Grab a brain! The world is filthy because we are filling our own nest with excrement. You have to live in this mess longer than I will.
Pay the fine, or serve the time. Get smart and don't do it again. You know better.

If they report you to the police it could be up to a $5,000 fine depending on where you live. If the bottle had hit another car and caused an accident you could have been looking at criminal charges. The driver should have stopped, if it was safe, and made you pick up your garbage. What the school chooses to do to punish you is up to them.

So all you are worried about is some external punishment? You should be punishing yourself. Don't litter. It's just lazy.
As far as what they will do.. I don't know but if I were them, I'd make you walk to school. And perhaps engage in some community service picking up trash.

don't worry, they won't burn you in the stake..
they'll just cut your hands using an electric saw and feed it to the dogs..
