How many Americans where killed in the US during the same time frame. The "Death Tool" is not a success or familiar meter. It is simply how many people have lost there life making sure people are able to be free. I got a Letter from GEN P today and when you see the full report you will know the true extent of our success so far.

Well I guess this can be seen as a Glass half full Glass half Empty question . Both sides see what they want in the news from Iraq.

What I see is the Surge is working in the guide lines laid out by David Paraeus on FM 3-24 what isn't working is the Government of Iraq in their work. In fact over the last month I would call it unwillingness on the part of Al Malik and his government to do the work.

I don't consider myself a "war Supporter " but I am a student of military history. So I know that it is hard for a nation to put it's treasure on the line for what looks like no gain. I will like SSgt Allan wait for the General's report and not the one that the White House is writing for him.

The number of dead don't mean anything without a reference. Being in the militay hasn't made the top 10 most dangerous jobs in the last 6 years. More people die in farming accidents yet you still get your food.

As Iraq is standing up for itself the violence is going down. Less Iraqs die per 1,000 than Germans in Germany, which are dieing at twice the rate according to the online CIA factbook.

More people are fleeing other countries (Saudia Arabia, Iran and Mexico for example) than Iraq.

There are also other countries that have a higher unemployment rate and more inflation.

if that was the truth of the matter i would know it and admit it. however that is not the truth of it. it is going well, and why can't the antiwar crowd admit that it is going well. there are deaths yes but that is not how you judge how a war is going. it is but one thing to take into account.

No, we don't. We've been there. We know what war is and how this one is going.
