yes they are dangerous espacially if it is heart worms.
You should be able to get worming tablets from your nearest pet store.

It can be dangerous. My mother had a puppy that had worms very badly and ended up giving the dog seizures. And they wanted to put him asleep because the thought that the worms made it to his brain. It is very important to keep that updated. It can get serious. I've witnessed and it's not good. They were able to treat him but it took alot of time. It only cost a couple of bucks to get the antibiotic. It is def something you should do!

There are different types of worms. The most common ones: roundworms are not specifically dangerous. However, they are annoying (and gross!) Other worms can be dangerous though, so if you think your dog might have them, take it to the vet. Generally the deworming shots cost about $15.

if you're not going to get your dog treated for worms unless they are harmful to YOU then you need to find the dog a new home....worms can be deadly to your dog if left untreated, and FYI they don't get in your skin anyway they get in y our intestines and really mess things up, i wont get graphic since this is a family board but lets just say they find any opening they can in your body and crawl in while you're asleep and start breeding and by the time you know you have them you are FULL of them....worming is pretty cheap for a dog if you cant afford an office call then go to wal mart and get some over the counter wormer and try it but honestly i can take mine to the vet and have them wormed cheaper then i can buy the otc stuff because its not as effective.

use worming tablets about every six months - the number of tablets depends on your dogs weight.

worms are dangerous potentially fatal - like diarrhea - if treated in time is a minor thing and if left to get worse...

£6 should about cover a box of tablets.
the box will contain either tablets for a combination for both worm types or two types of tablet - just follow the instructions.

as for humans
- my vet says we can get dog worms.
- my doctor says says its impossable.

It's not expensive at all, but it is very important the dog sees a vet and gets treated because if not treated the dog can become very ill from the worms.

Also, they don't get into your skin- you have nothing to worry about unless you play with the dog's feces. Take the dog to the vet for treatment. It's only a one time treatment.

Unless you are into playing with dog crap, you are not at risk for getting worms from your dog, and they do NOT get into your skin. If your dog has worms it is dangerous for him so take him to the vet to have him de-wormed. De-wormer is not expensive and it is in pill form so it is easy to treat.
If it is heartworm though, that is not easily treatable. Talk to the vet.

Can't give you yhe current cost.
Intestinal worms will cause the dog, or humans, to lose weight. They can become several feet in length.
Heart worms are deadly, as well as intestinal worms.

One treatment may not be sufficient.

The worms will not affect you, however your dog will tend to drag its butt if it has them...I just had my pup get the shot and it was only $21 at my vet...but i believe you can get a dewormer from the pet store..

Good Luck!!
