I accidentally had my film speed set to 400 instead of 100 on my Nikon camera. Will that mess up my pictures?

You may see some "noise" in large prints, if you print them. Otherwise, no. If you are just viewing them & saving them to a disk, you will be ok. Using 400 ISO for taking pictures of parades & other situations where there is motion is what you should do anyway. It gives you a faster shutter speed which reduces image blur when the subjects you are photographing are moving.

Setting to "auto" or lower ISO speeds is just fine for taking pictures of things that have little to no movement. You see, "auto" detects light, but not motion. Lower ISO speeds give you better image detail & better colors. But if there is motion, your subjects will have blur. Hope this helps.

Tell the lab when you develop the film what you did. They should know how to "pull" develop the film so it comes out right.

They will be underexposed by 2 stops. A good lab should be able to print them but the quality won't be the best.

it was set for faster film, so they might be a bright? 100 is outdoors, 400 indoors.....it is usually brighter outdoors....
