Take a paper bag. Hold your thumb and middle finger, with the top of the bag in between them. Now, with your other hand, throw the "magic invisible ball" into the air and "catch it" in the bag by snapping your fingers together. The bag will move and sound like there really was an invisible ball landing in the bag. Just make sure you have the bag between your fingers and the audience when you do it, so they can't see the action of your fingers at work.
