Like eating Rice Krispies vs eating Crispy Rice (the cheap brand).

I really don't care myself.
Do you?

Only for a few things. I have to have Kraft mac and cheese, some Campbell's soups, and real Potato Buds. The Safeway brand tastes like cardboard.

I care about quality and taste, no the name on the label. For some things, like rice cereal, store brands are fine. I buy the Crispy Rice, because it tastes the same as Rice Krispies to me. For other things, I get the brand name because I like it better. I only buy Folgers coffee, for example.

it is completely dependent upon which product you are referring to. Their are plenty of food items out there that I have no problem with choosing a generic or store brand for, whereas others I'm much more picky and will stick with a particular brand. For instance, Heinz is the only ketchup I will use and Miracle Whip is the only mayonnaise-type dressing I will use. However the generic version of certain canned products are fine (ie. cream of chicken or chicken rice soup, tuna fish, garbanzo beans etc). I will also buy generic crackers, or things like generic medications. Hope this helps.

I prefer a few name brand items for food and there are few I will not compromise. Coca-cola products have to be the real thing. I have just found some Honey Wheat pretzels from Kroger that are tasty and I have found several store brands of wheat crackers that I like from Aldi, Kroger and a few other stores. I find that I have to check the sodium levels and other nutrition information to compare the products but it just takes a few seconds to check and then our taste buds do the rest.

I agree that it has to be Kleenex or Puffs for facial tissue and NO off brands for toilet paper.

I do have brand names for certian things and will not comprimise, but with how advanced these companies are at reverse engineering food to figure out exactly how it's made, there are alot of knockoff brands that are right on the money with the name brand.

For the most part no, I buy what is cheapest or on sale. There are a few things though that I will buy a specific brand just because I like the taste better.

Just hold the 2 boxes of cereal next to each other, & compare the nutrition info. The store brand always seems to equal the big ad budget brand.

Go for the branded to be safe, cheaper brand sometimes use preservatives that are less expensive and more toxic than the expensive type. Particularly if this cheapos are imported from other countries.

Living single in miami i often eat the cheap brand and i find its often better (just discovered the cheap version of apple jacks and its yummy!).

As long as it tastes good, i dont care what the name brand is.
