I have always wanted to go into engineering but my undergraduate is in an unrelated field. Has anyone ever started their engineering career at the Master's degree level? Or is it necessary to obtain an undergraduate degree?

I have met people who have done it while I was getting my MSEE. But they usually have a related undergraduate degree (physics, chemistry, math) and may be required to take some undergraduate courses to remediate. You need to check with the perspective schools for the requirements.

Echoing what the previous dude said, you may have to take 'bridging' courses. I know a guy with a chemistry degree who is gettting a chem eng masters through an online program. This is not a very easy way to do it, but it can be done.

It will be eaiser if your undergrad is Math, Physics, or Chemistry. One on my Engineering Profs had an undergrad in Math.

If your undergrad is English lit, good luck.
