My friend and I started using glasses at the same age. Her vision was corrected and she no longer uses glasses. I still need glasses and I become more dependent on them every time I wear them.

It depends on why you need correction. Some glasses correct you vision while you are using them & some make your eyes work differently so that you no longer need correction.

I am severely nearsighted. No amount of eye exercises will help me because they won't correct the curvature of the eyeball itself which caused the problem in the first place. I wear glasses or contacts. They correct my vision up to a point where I am about 20/40 on the eye charts. That is about the best I can be corrected due to the severity of the problem. It works pretty well for the most part but I still don't see distances as well as people with normal vision.

Corrective lenses arent for everyone... it all depends on how your eyesight is. Some sight can be corrected over time. Some cant and only gets worse over time.

Glasses make your vision worse. I thought this was well known.

If you're near sighted or far sighted, you can correct that issue with a little dose of mother nature and some real exercises. Then again, if you're a lazy person, forget it. Just buy some glasses.

"Corrective" means the glasses will focus light clearly on your retina, not that they will cause your eyes to change and not need glasses.

Eyes change over time whether or not you wear glasses. There is a tendancy for children to "outgrow" farsightedness but increase in nearsightedness so it could be that your friend was farsighted and you are nearsighted.

Well if you can't pay for glasses you can actually get free glasses. But yes if you don't want glasses and want contacts the government wont pay for them. I would like free health care for everyone but people tend to think it's going to waste to much money but I won't go their to much.
