to open it and eat it up? If it is bad, will I know just by looking at? Should I taste it if it looks O.K.? I don't want to get sick or have my family get sick. Please advise. No silly answers, please.

If the seal hasn't been opened, then it will stay fresh a bit longer than the expiration date. It's like milk. If it's unopened, it stays good for almost 1 week longer. If in doubt just smell it. If it smellz weird at all then you have your answer. The expiration date iz the shelf life of the product so the distributors know when to take it off of their shelves. if someone bought cream cheese from a store 3 days b4 the ex date, it's still fine cuz they're not going to eat it in 3 days. Use your sense of smell.

Yeah it should be fine. Its a law that all food products have to have an expiration date. Most foods will last past there ex. date. the only thing I don't touch is milk after it goes bad. You know how cream cheese should taste and smell. So just try a small amount. And if for some reason it is bad(which it shouldn't be) and you and your family eat it the worst thing that will happen is one day of having a tummy ache. Hope this helped you.- Derek

Usually it is advised to dispose of anything openned or unopenned after or on the expirey date. You could taste it and make sure the texture looks okay. Usually a manufacturer puts an expirey date on all items, however they wouldn't put the exact date as people would get sick, so usually if it as a day or two, not openned and refrigerated properly......you should be good as the manufacturer wouldn't risk there reputation on a date thats too close to spoiling.

It should be good if it is unopened. It is a suggestion just like milk. I have used milk a week after the expiration date because it was kept cold and fresh and did not spoil so we used it and were fine. I would test it and smell it but you should be okay.

It should last a good week or more past expiration. If it is bad it will smell or you can get a bit on your finger and taste it. You can always spit it out if it tastes funny. If it get really old it will be moldy. But I think it will be OK, it's not that far past the expiry date.

It should be fine especially if you keep your fridge at 34 degrees or lower...I don't know that for certain but in my experience, the food in my fridge does last longer when I keep the temperature at or below 34 degrees. Smell it, you will know if it's bad by smell...also if there is a build up of liquid around the edges I would be cautious.

It should be just fine. You will know if you think it is not good, and you can't eat it. The smell won't be the same as when you just got it at the store. It will be fine to just taste a little bit of it, just to be on the save side.

It won't kill you.
One day should be just fine!!!

I gave my boyfriend a glass of old milk not paying attention one day. He drank most of it and then he said I think that this milk is old. We looked at the date and it was about 5-6 days old. He thought that I was trying to kill him! Haha.

Products should still be good for 7 days after the expiration date...or is that only milk? Anyway, it is said,"when in doubt-throw it out.

I would open it and smell it. If it smells ok put some in your moth but don't swallow until you are confident it is still good. I'm sure it is good though since it only expired yesterday

It's ABSOLUTELY OKAY!!!!!!
I promise you. IF (which it won't be) was not good, it would have mold just like cheese. But w/o air it won't. Even if it was open it would still be fine. Even milk is good till 7 days after date and cream cheese is way longer!!! Enjoy.
