Serious question, although silly in a broad sense.

It seems that I have developed someone on Yahoo Answers who is ticked off at me for some reason, as ALL of my answers to questions just 'happened', today, to develop little thumbs-downs :O)! Now by no means do I think I am the reply-all-guru, but my answers are not half bad and I have never had a thumbs down until again, today, when EVERY open one had two :O).

Have others experienced such silly baloney on here? It is way too funny to think that someone can take this stuff that seriously if this is really the case. I mean, it isn't as if it is "real" life, right? What other stuff happens like this?

Thanks :O)!!!

To the person who raised the topic: I switched my Q&A's to private right before I posted. In fact, that's what made me post - teh fact that I had to hide my Q&A's because of some idiot goof-head who has nothing better to do than thumbs-downy me - lol! To be honest, I'm going to change them back to viewable because I really have fun on this sytem when there is nothing better to do and like the majority of responders are saying: who really cares one way or another.

BTW, Jabberwock: Get some help, dude.

FANTASTIC replies, so letting it go to voting as I truly can't choose. Sorry to everyone who has had to deal with a troll. THANK YOU to everyone who replied.

It seems like you have some thumb trolls hard at work. It happens every once in a while. Some people might not have liked your stance on an issue or might just think it's funny to go and give one person a thumbs down. That it's two thumbs down tells me this particular troll has two accounts.

Thumbs down, of course, won't do anything bad to you. Except maybe make you feel bad. That's why I stopped going back to questions I've already answered. Works like a charm:)

I'm always getting thumbs down from the evangelical atheist's in the Religion & Spirituality section, the liberals in the Politics section, and in this section, by waiter/waitress' and delivery people because I have no problem saying that I won't tip for bad service.

Don't worry about it, some people have nothing better to do than to come on here and prove their ignorance to the masses.

We are, in a way, here to help ourselves and other people who really do have a need for a place to go to to get a quick answer on any topic and for help in other ways.

So, in a way, be happy that you are fulfilling your 'duty' so to speak, as it is obvious that you are helping that poor little troll who apparently has no life other than this. Don't take it too seriously. In all honesty, it is probably someone so down and depressed and angry and without any outlet for it who comes trolling here. Concentrate on the good things the community has to offer.

I think i've only gotten 1 thumbs down.. I don't even remember what the answer was now. I have had 2 questions removed although I don't know why. I guess some people have nothing better to do than create internet drama.

Yes, but the kind of abuse you are experiencing would be typical with any public forum. If you consider that someone, me included, can come into Yahoo Answers and basically type any message they choose without censorship, then you would comprehend that this is means for people to have the power they do not possess in real life. One would never have the courage to be this bold in their personal lives.

Like this question? I agree with you if we use this one as an example. Are we to assume that you "got life tho yahoo answers"? If so, good for you and all the other morons. Congrats.

I've already created enemies. I get automatic thumbs-downs in some YA areas, just for posting anything.

Who cares. If I'm not liked by some of the ignorant trolls who come on here, it doesn't bother me.

People are spiteful and act as if a thumbs down will hurt you. I usually give really thought out responses and have had thumbs down. Stupid, that this person is wasting so much time and energy trying to locate your answers. You should feel good inside that this person will always be a loser with no life.

This is a public forum, and as such, is subject to good guys and bad guys...if someone is indeed mad at you for some reason, just ignore it, and anyway, what difference does it make? It's only one bored person who will eventually give up and go away. Can't be that thin-skinned here...got to deal with it. You state way too funny to think that someone can take this stuff seriously, and yet...here you are doing exactly that!

Yes! Yes! Yes! That happened to me about three times. I mean it happened multiple times, but it took three new avatar names and disguises to actually get them off my back. I got reported once for abuse for no reason and because (I guess) my answere was a bit better. (he was a top contributor)(lol). That/those person/people actually followed my questions and went inside (since they're public, but not any more) and put thumbs down on every one of my answers. Such immature geese!!!
