For the past couple years I have been having weird mood swings. Sometimes I act normal and act like myself but other times it just hits me and I become very sad and feel like doing nothing. I thought that it was gone but it keeps on coming back. I'm preety sure im not bipolar because I'm never really hyper but I'm just not sure what's wrong with me.

A Depressive condition is not normally one that lasts for much less than about two weeks, and will often last longer or reappear. A person prone to depression will find it recurs unless treated. The ‘milder’ forms of depressions such as Atypical Depression and Dysthymic Disorder can go unrecognised for a lifetime and the sufferer and their associates might merely consider them a less happy, or negative, person without realising they have a diagnosable condition. The symptoms to look out for are recurring low moods, a general dissatisfaction with life, lack of socialisation or even an inability to socialise, and even putting on or losing weight and alcohol abuse.

Have you considered some events from the past having some influence on your present? This is nothing unusual. Highly emotional events do have an impact and are stored within the mind's storage vault. They can have a considerable impact on your life. Many of the emotional factors are brought into play as a result.

There is a method available to deal with this part of the mind and it's reactions.

If this has been going on for a while, and it is interfering with your life, then it may be time to have it checked out. A therapist can recommend coping strategies that will help you deal with whatever issues you may be experiencing, and if worse comes to worse, medication may be the answer. Though, if that's the first thing your therapist recommends, I would consider a second opinion.

Its worth looking into. Its nothing to be ashamed of. A lot of people have the same feelings. I have a family member who is going thru this. Therapy and/or medication helps. Good luck with everything.
