If this is something you really want to do you need to start preparing now. 60% of the poeple who go to the Air Force Academy become pilots. You need to have a great GPA, community service , and a congressional recommendation to be appointed. Take it very seriously, because its tough to get selected. Go to AirForce.com and start doing research

I would recommend seeing a recruiter now to help you out if that is really what you want to do, you can find out how to join Junior ROTC to get started. If you want to go to the AF Academy better make sure you are getting really good grades to get accepted and start writing some congressmen in a couple years for recommendations. Like I said tell your parents to take you to a recruitor to get some info. The ages above are correct, but the AF Academy will take 4 years anyway so you would be old enough too fly by then.

If you know what you want, then start to work towards that goal. The first thing to know is all pilots are officers and to be an officer you must have a college degree. The best route is to go ROTC or try to get into the AF Academy. The Academy requires sponsorship from your Senator or Congressman and you will need to be an exemplary student and community member to get it. Talk to a counselor at school now to find out what is the best way to work towards that referral.

Pilot selectees have to have a 4 year degree.. so if you goto College right after HS at 18, you will be 22-ish before you are eligible. You must be selected before age 27 though, as Aviation Training can be 3-5 years long.

you have to be 21 and have a degree and all that for pilot training. to just join the air force you can be 18 or 17 with signed permission from your parents. but you can only be enlisted at that age. enlisted can't fly, only officers can.
