It is not the presence of God; it is the subtle power of music. The reason "Chariots of Fire" became a number one hit, as I hear it, is that it possesses that subtle power. In addition, you associate it with running which brings to mind a peaceful feeling. I would keep playing the composition as we need the spread of peace.

... well, I'm assuming you mean the themesong associated with the film "Chariots of Fire" by Vangelis.
It's a great album... very cool music... I think it's gotten overplayed (to the point where it's almost cliche') - but it's still nice to hear.
Not sure why you feel the need to "spread peace" when you hear it... that's sort of just a personal quirk on your part, no?? (...and I'm just going to not speak of that whole "presence of god" thing 'cuz I think the whole atheist versus christian debate has pretty much been played out, no?)

Because you're cueing in subconsciously to the fact that the melody to Chariots of Fire was originally a religions song called "Abba, Father" by Carey Landry.
I always wondered why he didn't sue Vangelis.

Who cares? If you REALLY think you're capable of spreading peace throughout the world, go for it and don't wait for musical inspiration. Seriously, get off the internet and start spreading peace. People are dying while you're here asking stupid questions.

Thanks a bunch, now I've got that bloody theme stuck in my head :)
Seriously though, If you want to be inspired, read about one of C.O.F's heroes, Eric Liddell. I find him annoyingly pious but he was an extraordinary human being
