Why have christians been teaching for years that cash would one day be none existant (debit cards)? 3. Why have christians been teaching that in order to buy or sell people would have to have a computer chip imbedded under their skin? 4. It depends on what they study and WHY they are studyingI guess.
Is it to learn of ALL points of view and all sides of the picture or just to support their own indoctrination?
There are many educated and well rounded Christians out there with sound academic knowledge and a wide world view and experience.
But then again, they tend not to be the fundamentalist type.

The more you study, the more you know that you don't know. Questions get answered, and more questions pop up.
It's the nature of studying, after all. What have you studied where you didn't have more questions afterwards than you started with? A lot of times, before you study something, you don't even know what the issues are!
Haven't you found that out to be true also?

I think it's sort've like the other person said: Every time you feel you have something resolved, another thought comes to mind or a different view is raised.
I also think it's because sometimes we make it so darned hard because we 'think' it ought to be! We make it too hard on ourselves.
Have you ever heard the saying you can know all about God and still not know God?
Have a great day!

Have a star!
The more you know, the more you wanna know.
The more you know, the more you know you knew less than before.
The human mind has been created like that of its Creator, God, with a boundary line separating the two - Infinite (God) and finite (Man).
So the finite mind is trying to comprehend the infinite! And that is IMPOSSIBLE. This thirst is never quenched, until the soul recognizes in humility, its nothingness, its beginning and its end.

I think that is untrue.
Sometimes when they are done studying they simply are not christian anymore or their faith is even stronger, but I do not think they become less informed. Just because someone doesn't loose all faith doesn't mean they are ignorant. People believe what they choose to believe and we should respect that.
I'm not even christian. lol

Kinda like Trinity above said - the longer a person studies the more that person may recognize how much they do not know.

Now, be forewarned, I do not consider myself one of the Christian faith, however, the one thing that remains true for me and perhaps all that do study to any lengths is.....
"The more I learn the less I know"
sigh....acceptance....lol...and dont feel like the lone ranger.

Study what? The bible or a biology book. You would get completely different results from those two.

I like this question. I think Theology is like nuclear physics: You can just say that an atom bomb explodes and be happy with that, and you would be right. But if you study physics for one semester and try to build a bomb, you'll probably goof it up. You can either keep it simple, or you have to be an expert, but anything in between will probably lead you to errors.
