Are Jews forbidden to be merciful to the Arabs living under their occupation ?

The spiritual leader of Israel's ultra-orthodox Shas party, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, has provoked outrage with a sermon calling for the annihilation of Arabs.

"It is forbidden to be merciful to them. You must send missiles to them and annihilate them. They are evil and damnable," he was quoted as saying in a sermon delivered on Monday to mark the Jewish festival of Passover.

I would like to dispute two answers.

1. These are not previously used shells as if they were, they would not have tips on them.

2. If the photos have been altered for terrorist propaganda then AP photographer Sebastian Scheiner, would not be happy to have his work altered. These photos have been published on a number of different news sites. One photo shows an Israeli tank and soldier in the background. I believe that these photos are authentic, however I am happy to be proven wrong.

Why would these children be signing missiles intended for Lebanon? Because children both Arab and Israeli are being indoctrinated to hate each other. I hope that peace comes soon to these people, because the next generations coming through from both sides will be full of unbelievable hatred. Worse than what we are seeing now.

First of all, Passover is celebrated in the week before Easter, so the above quote could not be from a sermon to mark Passover. Rosh Hashanah is next week, this is the Jewish New Year and a time of reflection and atonement, much like Lent is for Catholics. I fear that there is very little mercy for many people. Hatred and intolerance of those who don't think the way you do can run deep in any religion. I pray that the leaders begin to teach about love, peace, and acceptance of all as children of God.

1. You have been repeatedly enlightened to the fact that it is well known that this is a photo of Palestinian children signing missiles in Gaza on their way to Sderot that has been doctored.

2. Rabbi Ovadia Yosef is strongly opposed in Israel by Jew and non-Jew alike. He recently said that soldiers of liberal movements of Judaism die in war because they aren't observant enough. He's silly.

And Islam's a perfectly moral religion, right? Why do the Taliban cry "Allahu akbar" when launching missile attacks?

Think of it like a Christmas card. Kaboom! Happy Christmas.

Or like a wink from jannah. KaboomI OMG I'm having an orgasm.

Kaboom! Oh Yeshuah!!!!

Kaboom! Gloria in excelsis Deo!

Kaboom! Hir rahman ir rahim.

Kaboom! Oh Israel....

Notice one thing in common? All Kabooms are followed by expressions of idiotic belief.

Political corectness? Kaboom!

From the blogs comment section "Liar.

In fact, I searched for those very images on AP. The Israeli children were signing shells, not missiles. As in, shells that were recovered that HIT Israel.
Filthy, disgusting, hatemongering liar".

The messages are mostly encouragement for the soldiers who fire them, not insults to the victims, and Hizbollah do the same. You get idiocy on both sides of the border.

And where did much of the outrage come after R. Yosef's comments? Inside Israel.

We won't have peace in the Middle East until the Arabs love their children more than they hate Jews.

Why would Muslims strap bombs on their children to send them into shops to kill Jews? By the way when did these missiles ran down? And furthermore, how do you "occupy" your own land?

That's the problem when BOTH SIDES follow the teaching of "an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth..."

Killing is always wrong regardless. Period.

Peace be with you.
