Its crap numerology...Michael Drosdin (author of the Bible Code books) said that if anyone could find the same messages in Moby Dick, then he would stop believing in it...
Guess what? Someone made a program, and sure enough, these same "prophencies" can be found in Moby Dick.
It is interesting that everyone is saying that these peoplke werent scholars. I remind everyone that the author of the book was a journalist - but the people who invented the Bible Code WERE real Jewish Scholars - A rabbi, I believe, a scholar of rabbinical studies.

Do some reading and you can find where people have found the same kinds of "codes" in large books. If you have enough letters and you have a computer that goes thru enough permuations, you will find all sorts of phrases.
You can also find phrases that contradict the bible and contradict these "predictions" too. You just have to look for them. However, the bible code people down play those as just random stuff. However, they still want you to believe that the stuff they find is not random.

This is the same thing as the da Vinci Code. You can take almost anything that happens in this world and incorporate it into the bible. I don't buy it. But that is just my opinion. And you know what the say about that. I think the basis is that God put us on this earth to take care and nurture one another. And you see how that has worked out. We have failed the test of times. All the things that happen on the earth is our fault not Gods. And it is not all written in the bible. God gave us everything we needed and look at what we did.

"When my critics find a message about the assassination of a prime minister encrypted in Moby Dick, I'll believe them." - Michael Drosnin, author of The Bible Code (Newsweek, Jun 9, 1997)
I wonder if Michael Drosnin has the intellectual integrity to admit he's wrong.

No input but thoughts...why would an all knowing and loving God make a formula (code) hidden within His own word that only "nerds", I mean "scientist" will be able to de-code that will predict the future-
When the bible is laid out plain and simple...Believe, Repent and Love (I know there's more, but for space purposes I just put down the real important ones)??
just my thoughts...

I have seen some things where people looked at the actual code (that is, the computer program code) of a web site and did a numerology analysis of it, and were surprised at how often 666 came up. They failed to realize that most of what they were noticing were color codes, and that just meant that it was a pure color rather than a blended one.
I have also heard of people making much of the dates of things, and correlating them to interpretations of the Book of Revelations. But do you realize how often things can be manipulated to make them say what you want them to say?

Some people believe that every calamity is sent down by a wrathful God. I'm sure a Code would be something they would believe, without thinking it through.
I wonder if these same people could code the Koran.

A thousand monkeys with a thousand typerwriters can type the complete works of Shakespeare in a thousand years. Essentially, they take the Hebrew text (can't be a translation, obviously), parse the letters onto randomly sized grids, then play find-a-word with computers. When one of historical significance pops up, they shout, "Aha!" and add it to the conspiracy pile. With enough raw material, you can construct anything!

I wouldn't go so far as to call them "scholars." Just another way to get people to buy some books. If you reduce something to numbers you can make up all kinds of "codes."

First they are using the Kaballah not the NT or even the Torah.
Second most bible schollars debunk it.
Third they only "find" the codes AFTER an event never before.
