The Big Bang happened, so the theory says, about 13-14 billion years ago. For the next 10 or so billion years a lot of things happened that lead up to, among other things, the formation of the solar system and the Earth and then eventually life.
The Big Bang theory does not make ANY STATEMENT about what happened before the Bang or about what caused the Bang. We are still working on that.

the earth was not just all of a sudden there. it was formed over billions of years from the same elements that everything else in the universe is made of including all life, sentient and otherwise, on earth.
besides, where did god come from. was he just all of a sudden there?
like infinity, the origin of everything is an inconceivable concept in our reality, the only thing we can do is speculate. god, the big bang, the ultimate reality, or universal oneness can only be believed in and not proved. it is ok to have faith, but you most also be open minded - blind faith is dangerous

Belief in God the Creator and the Big Bang Theory are more compatible than not believing in God the Creator and believing in the Big Bang Theory..
Who set off the Bang? Where did it come from if there was no Who to do it?

God did and the Big bang theory is the proof. Science uncovers the finger prints of God.
the Question is do people worship God Or do they worship a Book? God tells us not to be idolater's. When we blindly follow a book and ignore the evidence, That god has provided right there in front of us. We are slaves to ignorance. That is what the pharisees did. They couldn't look up from there books to see God right in front of them.

In Genesis, God creates LIGHT before he creates the earth, the sun, the moon, plants, animals and mankind.
The theory of the Big Bang in no way contradicts this and in point of fact supports the Biblical account if you can accept that we do not operate on the same time-scale as the Divine.

Um, it's not all of a sudden it was there...it's about what set things into motion and got things forming. So that maybe billions of years later, or more, our own galaxy and solar system manages to form...
"God did it" is just silly...I mean THAT is the "poof it's there" not the big bang.

The subject of "God", whom "He" is and "what "He" is mystify's the educated theology kings.
The more most study the very concept of "God" the more the honest will tell you: "I don;t really know"...
Consider "God" a higher spiritualy evolved entities; most have the concept of "I" , or One as a being. Entities being more than one as the rule of "1" is a rule within Our current physical system; this rule identifies The "Self" as this is Our Concept; further, the very "self" that makes you you, is one major stumbling block to sprituality as one must agree to let go of the ego to find there true self. I admit, I am not close.
So, in short, I consider "GOD" more than I can understand, yet, as Jesus Symbolicaly-represented "TRUTH" and that simple Truth being that the "IAM" in Gods identity is simply : God is your higher self, you are detached-severed from that "GOD" as a physical being; "Jesus", being Truth is "God" screaming at you to "get it", get it?
God talks each day and says, I want to see you, talk with you, listen to me; Jesus is that red flag saying "GOD" is over here, "My Father" is one and the same as I and as you are no different than I, seek "God" within".
It's a circle of finding the self within as God is there right besides you.
The Big Bang is no coincidence, nor is the formations of intricate nature as it truly is a work of art; many will say "mother nature" did it or "evolution and I cannot argue and as soon as some do "mother nature" will becom,e a religion also and purhaps a million will die in a mother nature war...
I believe in the Big bang theory for several reasons; one, it is shown as such in "modern science" and two, My listed Source-references both discuss the matter and corroborate each other; Cayce and Seth-Speaks refer to the big bang in detail describing the event as "one of many" such "bangs" as the bangs are followed by a "collapsing" as eventually all goes out and all comes back in to a central point from which it started; the reference matter also advises thgis is bang # 3 and collapse #2 as we are currently "expanding" outwards;
What I find interesting is this referenced materiel from Cayce and Seth Speaks (a non-physical entity) is that they reference it 30-50 years before science agreed this was occuring (red shift-Galaxies moving away ect).
From your View, from My view, as we are Both grounded Physically, is that "creation" is along a linear timeline. And this is not so, our limited awarness and perceptions tell us many such things, yet, from higher awarness, all things exsist at once.
Do read Edgar Cayce and the Jane Roberts "Seth Speaks" materiels as a reference to higher spiritual-learning.

Because the belief of an intelligent designer is far more complex to understand than the Big Bang. It took a long time for scientists to come up with a theory for the Big Bang. As for an intelligent creator.... thats fails as a hypothesis. I myself am uncertain of a Big Bang and agnostic towards it.

Hey, I am a Muslim.
I have a lecture for everyone who wants proof of Almighty God. It is by the brilliant Muslim scholar, Dr. Zakir Naik. He proves Almighty God’s existence by using some of the many scientific verses in the Qur’an. Scientists are recently discovering these facts, but they were already in the Qur’an 1400 years ago! Please listen to the lecture. It is worth your time.
