*sigh* why are you trying to avoid the vets exactly?
I really hope you mean blood in NORMAL poo - because if your dog has diarrhoea as well you should have been at the vets a while ago.
It's hard to help a problem without knowing what the cause is - and without seeing the dog, or being a vet. You haven't said what sort of blood - fresh blood usually means from the large intestine, digested (darker) blood means from the stomach or small intestine. Where it's from affects what caused it.
Could your dog have eaten anything hard/sharp recently? If not, it could be an infection of some kind - you'll almost certainly need antibiotics, which is not something you can get from anywhere other than a vet.

No, I would highly recommend you take your dog to see a doc asap. I just went to the vet yesterday because my dog had bloody stool.
The $40 I paid for the visit and medicine was worth knowing my dog doesn't have something life threatening that could have resulted in large vet bills later on. At least *call* the vet and ask what you should do!

Unfortunately no. He may a severe case of worms, worms that you may not be able to see in the feces. It could also be a much more serious problem such as cancer. If you love your dog take him to vet. If you're low on funds ask the vet if you can make payments. If you're REALLY low on funds and can't afford the dog call a Rescue group (there is one for every breed or an all-breed) or take him to the humane society -they will vet him properly before adopting him out.

The longer you wait, the more sick your pet becomes, the higher your vet bill. Do the right thing by your dog if you care for him. Take him to the vet.

Nope. Take him to the vet asap! This is very serious. It could be parasites or parvo. And believe me, both can be fatal if left untreated!
Don't let him near any other animals either!--both are highly contagious!
Take him to the vet!

Blod in a pet's stool can be a result of internal parasites(Worms).etc.If your pet hasn't been wormed lately,I would suggest reworming it.If any nausea,or throwing up with the blood in stools, contact your vet.

I don't know if it's the same with dogs and people, but i once had blood in mine. It just went away after a couple of days. I still think you should take your dog to the doctor now.

Please take your dog to a vet. It is against the law to not provide needed medical care, it is animal abuse plain and simple. In some states it is a felony!
Your dog needs to be seen by a vet.
