I was just told that i probably have early stages of degenerative back disease in my lower back.I'm really young and i'm worried that since this disease is more common in ppl 30 yrs and up, i will have a very bad back when i'm older. What treatments do u think they will give me? Also i take ibuprofen almost every day. I'll continue doing this til my mom can schedule a Dr. appointment. Is this safe? Is this the best med for this? Also does anyone else have this? What is it like?

hmm.. let me see...Degeneration of the intervertebral disc, which is often called "degenerative disc disease" (DDD) of the spine, is a common disorder of the lower spine and for some people can cause low back pain Often, degenerative disc disease can be successfully treated without surgery. One or a combination of treatments such as Physical therapy, osteopathy, anti-inflammatory medications such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, chiropractic treatments, or spinal injections often provide adequate relief of these troubling symptoms. For pain take childrens St. Joseph coated aspirin 81 mg...I know this because a good friend of mine has it and i hope she will soon feel better. :)

Guess Who yet???? LOL <3

hunny i have had this problem since i was around 17 both my parents had it... I have had one back surgery already to try to help it. plus many rounds of steroid injections & discographs.... some people have it worse than others. im allergic to nsaids (ibuprofen/naproxen etc...) but those are the most helpful meds for the condition. it can be very painful, depending on the level of degeneration. I have been placed on a very strong narcotic (avinza-morphine) for my daily back pain. only because of my allergy to nsaids. if you get in treatments early for the degeneration you might be able to save yourself a lot of pain, & problems. get plenty of exercise if you are able because the more active you are the less the degeneration increases.

I have osteoarthritis. I took a prescription medication for a while but it just about ruined my stomach lining and had to stop it. Sometimes I take Ibuprofen but it hardly ever works. I just suffer with the pain.. I hope your doctor can help you. Best of luck.

I tried to copy and paste this very, very long article which I found to be very nformative on this subject matter. I found it to be very, very helpful. But it doesn't allow me because of its unusual length

So I'm just citing the link for you:
Try to absorb the extensive info on it :

http://www.biblelife.org/back.htm

This dealt on exercises, the proper nutrition you should take.and all the myths. Each site they give is also clickable for further evidence. It made for very interesting reading.

Another one is this:
