Is losing your memory something that only happens to people in their 60's or over? At what age does this begin? Have any of you started to notice that you can't remember things as well, even at age 40?

Well I don't think it's exclusive to senior citizens or middle-aged people! As a survivor of child abuse my memory went at age 3.

I know that it's scary and the first thought when memory gets "iffy" is oh-my-god-have-i-got-alzheimers .. but really there are so many reasons for memory not to be good. It can be because of stress or tiredness. It can happen to people who are having problems with one of their senses - e.g. losing their sight or hearing .. this can be disorienting and misconstrued. It could be the side-effect of a medication. There are a lot of reasons for it, and only when you have ruled out all of those, is it time for the oh-my-god scenario.

It starts as soon a one becomes a teenager, I know my teenage kids forget stuff all the time, from homework to the garbage cans on the curb.
