Almost there in your thinking. God is BOTH male and female. The qualities we know of as being MALE and FEMALE were aspects of God implanted into human beings at creation. The division was created by GOD to teach us the importance of relationships.

A hermaphrodite has a combination of both male and female sexes. But as God is beyond sexuality and is Spirit, there could be no sexual organs in his being. The second question, however, can apply to Spirit, and I'm sure you are right.
Interestingly, Jesus says that the angels are neither male nor female, and that is what those resurrected to heaven will be - so, no marriage in heaven! (Mark 12:24-27)
The triune nature of God, however, gives us the most fascinating insight into who God is; the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit enjoy a communion that must be utterly exquisite, and it is this glimpse that takes us to another level when contemplating the nature of God.

No. He is a Father.
John 5
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
Jesus died and was resurrected. He has a body to go with his spirit. He only did what the Father did. God, his Father, has a body too.

God is God no more no less. We call him father because he is a loving God and until recently the male in western society and indeed in most countries is dominant. Whether God is a sexual being or not is a distraction

An Hermaphrodite is one who has male and female characteristics. In this widest sense God is hermaphrodite in that he is both since male and female together were created from him.
"Let us make man in our own image .... in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them."
(No, I am not a creationist. Genesis was written as a story to illustrate man's relationship with God.)

Nobody knows who or what god is. I note some very definite statements in here and from other people about the nature of "god" but you have to remember those are only opinions with no basis in fact or reality and your opinion or mine for that matter is as good as anyone else's no matter who they are or what position they hold in any religious any other type of organisation

*blush* Well, that's one way of putting it. :)
God is a spirit. And I think we'll all agree that being male or female isn't just about what kind of genitals you have. A man is a man not just because he has a penis, but because he has a male essence; women are women not just because they have vaginas, but because they have female essences.
As a spirit, God has both male and female essences. I dunno if a spirit with no genetalia can be said to be a hermaphrodite, but if you think so, then that's right.
It says in Genesis, "God made man in His image; male and female He made them."
So God Himself contains both male and female essences.
