Many of you have probably already seen this but apparently this woman had to cover herself with a blanket on a southwest flight. I don't want to get into the politics of it at all. I just want to know if you think what she is wearing is modes and which religion you follow/

Note that in a few articles I read about it she said that these photos were taken after she made adjustments to her outfit for so she could continue with the flight. Look at where her belly button is and where her skirt top is. She said she had to pull down her skirt and pull up her tank top. How short was her skirt????

Most of the news videos and articles aren't mentioning this is after she adjusted her outfit. But I still cannot believe the anchor that says this is how kids go dressed to school! LOL

For the person who made the boob comment, she works for hooters - big surprise! The GIRL is making the big deal, she is the one that sent everything to the news agencies.

UPADATE UPDATE***********

I don't like FOX NEWS but decided to watch the clip and apparently Southwest has stated in their terms and conditions that they have the right to kick you off if they determine you are dressed in an OBSCENE manner! So....there ya go!

No, I'd have a hard time qualifying that as modest.
What is most appalling about the whole thing is that her MOTHER defended her dressing that way. Unfortunately, it appears that the girl comes from a background of women who are valued only for their looks.
There is nothing wrong with being attractive, but when you sell it so that it appears to be your only asset, you are shortchanging yourself.
I've told my oldest daughter that BECAUSE she is very attractive she needs to be MORE aware of how she presents herself to the world, to avoid being judged as such. It's a shame that it has to be that way, but it IS that way. My mother, who modeled in her youth as did I, taught me the same thing. Beauty is nice, but not when it's all people see.
This girl has sold herself very, very short.
if she is bright, caring or both, it will be obscured by her obnoxious manner of dress and her lack of self-respect.

I don't think the outfit can be described as modest. And if this was after it was adjusted then i can see why she was asked to make it more appropriate. If the outfit was like in the link then i have seen worse, but if all her mid drift was showing then in a you have to respect the people your in a confined space with. However if the airline is not giving out dress codes before flying then they really have no right to tell her how to dress after she has bought a ticket. I would not want to sit next to a man with no shirt, jeans and flip flops it would make me uncomfortable and I'm sure there where people on that flight who felt the same by the way this girl was supposedly dressed. The ticket should be sold in the future stating eg no mid-rifts, men must not be bare chested then there is no confusion.

I am a Muslim.

The skirt did not look see-through to me. There was a dark spot right about the middle which might have been a hole, but it was so small that you could only see through it if you put your head in her lap.

I think the commentator was right; kids look like that and even a good bit trashier going to school. Most public schools have pretty much given up trying to set dress codes.

Wow this situation is getting way too confused from the actual events... She wore a skirt. The stewardess asked her to take better care of her outfit. They lectured her about her outfit. She was not escorted off of the plane. The plane landed at her destination. While in transit, the woman in question asked for a blanket which she place over herself - because she was emotionally distraught about being asked about, lectured about her outfit... She was not forced to change her outfit. News media need to keep the facts straight.

I think that she looks like a tramp!

That being said... it does not give anyone the right to escort her off of an airplane and humiliate her. They could have politely asked her to cover up, if she was revealing too much.

As I said, I think she looks awful! I hate any weather over 80 degrees, but I still remain modest. There is no reason to go out dress like that in public.

And furthermore... whoever that woman was that said that kids dress like that in school... She is right! There are young girls and teens dressing like sluts these days. I blame it on their parents.

*edit: farien3 - Oh honey, I will make it my business if a girl or woman is strutting around half naked in front of my child. If people wanted to see things like that, they'd go to a bar/club or their local strip joint!

Yeah the two women seem a little biased on this one. I agree with the guy. I don't think there is any lawsuit here, but I don't think women should wear that kind of clothing either. To be honest I'm glad the woman was embarrased. She should be.

I'm sorry to say this, but if certain forms of dress making others uncomfortable is the "standard," I'm going to start getting women who don't wear bikinis thrown off planes - covering all that skin just doesn't make me feel comfortable.

And men in business suits. Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than seeing a man in a business suit! ACK!!!

I just looked up Southwest Airlines and called their Public Relations department to tell them that I thought the supervisor who censured the young lady with the mini-skirt was really stupid and that if there were two airlines flying to the same location, I would be inclined to avoid Southwest and their morality police.

Judging from the size of her boob job, this is exactly the sort of attention she's been seeking.
