I am 24 and waiting until I get married to have sex....is this looked down upon or is it good in American culture? I just moved to America from Holland.

I have the utmost respect for women who are willing to wait until marriage. I hope I can find a woman with that much respect for her body someday. I would lose respect for you if you get swayed the other way because of the results you got from this question.

As a guy waiting till marriage to have sex, i have major respect for u. Now the bad news lol. here, most guys and gals lose their virginity at the age of 14-15 so obviously 99% of both men and women dont care about morals. Your facing an uphill battle. Fell free to shoot me an email if u need to make more friends here. Its good to see a fellow virgin these days. Watch for my ebook coming later this year:)

Hi its really admire able that u have waited as long as u have. yes i respect u for the choice u have made ( your a rarity in America for sure) and i am very sure that any one who u dis close this to will hold u in high esteem because u have put in action what u believe in. I hope u find a guy who believes in the same values u do and respects ur decision to wait .. coz that is generally not the case these days. PS its YOUR decision to have sex... don't feel pressured to "do it" . if it feels right to u (with your partner / husband) by all means go ahead....... but yes please insist that ug et ur self checked and practise safe sex

The popular culture of America might make it seem that this is unpopular.

Your chastity is the best gift that you can give to your future husband. It says a lot for you as a person. You are willing to wait and give this gift only after marriage.

It is a very valuable gift and you should not feel intimidated at all!

it's more of a religious thing

there is a big campaign called "worth the wait" but they trivialize sexuality instead of highlighting the importance of individuality and respect for self irrregardless of sex or other issues

sex restraints is just another boundary issue, and to say relations are defined by sex or not, is sad

religions largely use sex as a control tool and if you let them sway you on that, the rest is fair game and your life is ruled and you become a servant

Personally, I know those are the only women I'm interested in dating and I'm 22. I don't like girls who are loose because their is no sense of companionship. I am waiting until marriage not just because of my beliefs, but because its the safest thing to do with all the STD's running rampant. Plus, sex was given to us as a gift. And I'm saving my gift for the one I want to spend the rest of my life with.

People act steriotypical for once in your american Idiot lifetime!

Probably the most world-renouned American culture is a) having sex before you're 15 b) going pregnant first time you have sex c) having sex before marriage d) all of the above, plus extra seasoning.

Then again, Holland was the drugs and sex capital of the world, last time I checked.

Cheers out! ^_^

Yes and no... i mean its good that you are waiting.. but if you get n a serious relationship over like 6 months .. sex will be on his mind and prolly yours.. but yeah to tell a guy that you are a virgin or whatever he will respect that cuz then he will trust you more
