If it was related to your job, then yes its' rude, unprofessional and unnecessary.
Tell them if they have any complaints, come see you in person to discuss it. Otherwise, you'll do your job as you see fit and its not their place to tell you what is or isn't involved in doing your job.
Unless its' your boss.

if you are doing your job, they have no right to tell you that you have no business not to do something... unless it was your boss. heck, yeah it was rude! I am a person who is considered " rude" by most of society, so, believe me when I say, " I know rude!" And what that person did/ said, was rude. To correct the problem, I would quietly pull this person aside, and let him/her know that you thought she /he was rude and had no business saying wht he/she did, and if that doesn't help, then,by all means, go to your boss.

That is very rude and inappropriate, unless it was coming from a supervisor type person. But if it was coming from a supervisor, I'd imagine they'd say something more along the lines of, "That's not in your job description; you're not supposed to be doing that."
So yea, it was rude.

Maybe that person didn't know it was a mistake and just took it the wrong way. But no, that's not a rude thing to say at all.
Would you rather of had them say it like this: "B*tch, I oughta crack you upside the head if you ever do that sh*t again..."?? LOL So, no it wasn't rude of them to say it like that.

In this case it sounds like compounding a felony. You possibly did something you shouldnt have done and the other person did something they had no right to do. Where does this person get off telling you how to behave? Your boss can do that, but no one else.

Depends what your mistake was. Were you somewhere you shouldn't have been? I would be fine if a colleague came into my office to look for a file or document that was sitting on the shelves or desk, but I would say it was "not her business" if she opened up my desk drawer or my briefcase to find it.

I would have felt offended, there are more ways not telling you something than being just plain rude

Eh - on a scale of one to ten, it's about a three. I'd blow it off and laugh at the schmuck for being tactless.

Depends on what you did, and why. I would certainly tell someone that if they were sticking their nose into stuff.
