Ok, so I'm trying to cut back on these. I tend to have quite a few diet drinks a day (3 or so) and I notice that for sweet snacks I usually go for sugar free jell-o, pudding, or candies.

I'm beginning to feel that it's a bit much and I want to cut back, but I don't want to replace them with lots of sugary stuff either. Drinks are especially an issue. (And, yes, I do a lot of drink water, but sometimes I want flavor). So, I've started watering down my juice by 1/2, any other ideas? Also, how much artificial sugar is too much during the day? Thanks in advance.

artificial sweeteners are still an unknown as far as are there any long term effects.. for all we know they are the main cause of autism (this is just random blundering.. there's absolutely no evidence for that.. it's just an example of how little we know). So I would say cut back by as much as you are comfortable with. Tea is a good idea.. once you adjust to the slightly bitter taste of green teas and the likes, you actually begin to prefer them over sweetened drinks... and tea boosts your immune system as well. Popcorn is a good snack if you are tired of jello. And fresh fruits.. though high in sugar.. have sugars that break down and are processed more easily by the body.. they are less likely to be stored as fat and the fruit provided a host of nutrients the body can use... so they make a great snack idea as well.

in the end.. the best thing you can do for your body (as far as nutrition) is to start drinking water... and lots of it.

I have a problem with this too. I am obsessed with Coca-Cola Zero, it tastes absolutely just like regular coke. I try to limit myself to one can per day, but sometimes I drink more.

I also like Propel water which has a lot of flavor and I like the way the mouth of the bottle fits your lips perfectly. I know, simple thing, but it makes me drink it more. Also flavored seltzer water is pretty refreshing and you still get the carbonation that you would get from soda.

there is not any definitive evidence that there is any injury in applying synthetic sweeteners yet I usually sidestep giving them to the youngsters (meanwhile i'm a eating recurring coke addict). in the event that they devour or drink something with a synthetic sweetener in it i do no longer freak out, I do purely no longer think of this is mandatory and would besides save as many manmade issues far flung from them as i will for now. far worse i think of are the extra contemporary great-concentrated synthetic dyes - like the neon blue - that they sometimes get...
