Fact:

The Sun's output and radiation is changing and increasing, effecting all planets but they refuse to talk about that or mention it because that would kill their new scam the Carbon Tax!

Look at Saturn - Atmosphere is changing and strange hurricane like storms at the poles.

Look at Mars - Elevated atmosphere and the polar caps are melting at an alarming rate

Look at Venus - The atmosphere changes all over the planet in a single planetary

Look at the Moons of Saturn that were once Ice, they are now liquid pools

Its not just the Earth - but for those that follow the Main Stream Scientists that is all they want to hear!

Money out of thin air for something they can't change.

Even if they did manage to lower the greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere, by doing that it would actually make the Earth even hotter because the gasses that are there act like a shield against the Suns radiating heat.

Did you get that - the gasses act like a protective shield

YOu can all go ahead and pay your carbon tax, but they are not getting one dime for me.

No one is going to sit there and force me to pay a tax because the Sun is heating up, going through changes and effecting every planet within range!

Hell, even Pluto has started to warm and has developed an atmosphere over the last 15 years!

You can verify it through all the astronomy records and planetary data collected over the last 4 decades!

Its fact!

They just don't mention these little facts because they plan to make billion off the Worldwide Carbon tax

Yes, I still believe we should cut down on the amount of carbon that we are breathing in for sure! It is a leading cuse in cancer!

If you want to clean up the enviroment fine, but don't force a tax on me - tax the billions on these direct manufacturing producers of the carbon gasses

They can afford it

For Mike below:

For your information I work in a company that aligns educational materials for testing in Public Schools all over the United States!

So I deal with Math, L/A and Science every day all day!

I would say my education is just fine as well as my independent thought.

I might redirect the same question to you my friend

Have you ever thought for yourself or do you just follow the mainstream thought up river without - the paddle

I think the last person I would ever take scientific advice from would be a scientist working for Exxon Oil

That's like asking the cat to tend the mouse

I've never heard this theory, but it doesn't sound out of the question. Infact, it sounds pretty reasonable. Do you mind posting some of your sources for us?

Also, I think CFC's and other emissions have a relatively strong impact on the immediate and local environments where they are being discharged, particularly in densely industrially populated areas. Would you still agree that regulation should still occur in certain places where there could be a local impact - even if it had no bearing on global warming?

No I don't, these observations would make no sense anyway, and some are just plain wrong

also, why isn't our moon warming?

i think you are making up the venus part, or maybe you got this info from a right wing blog...

if the sun increased output enough to melt ice on saturns moons, the earth would be scorched

One of the dry ice caps on mars is sublimating, and not at an alarming rate, but the rate it is supposed to be sublimating at due to the season cycle of mars. Also, it has also been shown that mars temperature is highly dependent on dust storms, which can raise the average global temperature by 30C in less than a month.

The statement about ghg's just shows you really lack understanding of the greenhouse effect in general. Now, some ghg's that trap IR can also absorb UV like ozone.

So Saturn, Mars, Venus, Pluto, and Saturn's moons have all shown signs of warming. Fair enough. What about Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune, and their moons? None of them have been warming in the slightest. Some have even been cooling. How is it that changes in the sun managed to warm four planets, and miss all the rest? Methinks your theory is lacking something.

Another kink in your elegant theory is the marked lack of changes in solar output in the last forty, and possibly seventy, years. Warming here on Earth has been fastest since about 1970, which is about the time reliable satellite measurements of the sun became available. It hasn't shown any trends since that time.

Lastly, greenhouse gases do not act like shields against incoming solar radiation. The very definition of a greenhouse gas is a gas that traps outgoing IR radiation from leaving Earth's atmosphere. GHG's are transparent to light at visible wavelengths, and opaque to IR wavelengths.

There is a cycle of called the Milankovitch cycle which is determined by the variations in the earth's axis and its orbit around the sun. It is what is believed to be responsible for the various interglacial and glacial periods that have been happening for the last 2 million years. There are other cycles that the sun has also but for me the most compelling evidence of warming is from a geologists perspective and the obvious warming that has been going on for the last several thousand years. To try and take the last decade or two and pin that sudden increase in temps on humans is a huge stretch IMO.

Global warming is (mostly) not due to increased radiation from the Sun.

It's not the whole Solar System that's warming. Just a few planets, for different reasons.

On Mars it's giant dust storms unique to Mars.

http://www.nasa.gov/centers/ames/research/2007/marswarming.html

And measurements of the Sun show it's decreased its' radiance by just a little bit, while temperatures continue to soar.

jim z - The last Milankovic cycle peaked about 20,000 years ago to get us out of the last ice age. The next peak isn't due for 80,000 years or so.

And the cycles aren't magic. They cause an easily detectable rise in solar radiance. It ain't there.

I responded to this post in the political section, so I guess I'll respond to it here too. It's becoming sort of a one size fits all response to all these cookie cutter posts.

You're misrepresenting data, or you don't know what you're talking about in the first place. Global Warming is a conclusion drawn by generations of scientists over the last hundred years. It has no Nationality, race, economic class or political party.

The Skeptics and Deniers are a political movement that began in the late 1970's but had no credibility until Bush adopted it in 2000. It has the same relationship to weather science as Creationism has to Geology and Biology. It's shameless pandering to his perception of the views of the Evangelical Christians, who are part of his political base. Interestingly, the Evangelicals now call for action on Global Warming. He's also blocked stem cell research and other research this lobby group does not like.

The guy who founded the Skeptic/Denier movement was Lowell Ponte. He is the one and only scientist who predicted an ice age in the 1970's (a favcorite myth of the Skeptic/Deniers). He describes himself as a "National Socialist" (but "not a Nazi"). He was a rabid Red Baiter and anti-Communist politically, in the school of Joe McCarthy. He categorizes everyone who disagrees with him as "left wing" or "Commie". He ridicules Global Warming as the work of "Jewish Scientists, like Paul Erlich and Carl Sagan" who manufactured false data to get rich off of government grants. He started most of the more moronic myths about Global Warming including the ones you have posted here. Besides Weather, he considers himself an expert on every other subject known to man, and puts out extensive disinformation on all of them.

President Bush has helped Ponte and others like him to organize an army of knuckle draggers to do his bidding and made the USA the laughingstock of educated society, and the shame of the civilized world.

the only truth about human caused global warming is the hot air being exuded by the commies that are pushing it.

Our earth has been in a constant state of change since it began 4.6 billion years. Just 10000 yrs ago (pre-civilization) we were in the midst of a major ice age covering a large majority of the northern latitudes. Prior to that the eocene was markedly hotter then present. (pre-human)

So what causes it? Solar cycles, fluctuations in the axis of the earth, and it's apogee and perigee in it's orbits around the sun. Solar activity, and volcanic activity.

There's so much the scientists don't know and can't figure out that I'm not going to put all of my eggs into their baskets. A while back they would have convinced you that the earth was flat and it was the center of any universe that existed. Of course now we know that's not true, but you never know what they will discover next. So, i'm not completely going by their word. The Universe is so complex and confusing that I'm not attributing global warming just to humans...

The sun is a star that is going to burn out, as all stars do. It's not surprising that its heat it getting more intense. The entire universe is winding down; but you'll never get these people to understand that. Even scientists who know the truth won't tell it. Why? Because the truth is too close to God. And we can't have people knowing there's a God, now can we?

everyone should know that you cant stop global warming, and this ''protective shield'' your on about is getting thicker and thicker and making global arming happen faster so if you lower greenhouse gasses it would help, it would slow global warming down dramatically. All this stuff we are doing is doing slow down the rate of GW not stop it all together.
