(this was partly due to drinking that night), anyway I was laying bed at around 11am and I had not slept, and I started to pray to god and how I was sorry for any bad things I had done in my life, and how in the past I had even done things like try and convince Christians there was no good, and who did I think I was to do something like that, and how I wanted my life to change etc, and right at the end, while my eyes were still closed and I was on my side, something that I can only explain was so powerful took control of my body, while this was happening there in my image of this unbelievable powerful force surrounding my body with a light so bright, I could not move and it felt so overwhelming, it was for me god either wanting to take me to heaven if I had enough, or to open my eyes.I thought I was slipping away. I then opened my eyes and I thought about this for the rest of today.
I now think it was god or someone sent by god, like an angel, and it was like giving me a choice.

go to heaven or open your eyes and live your life, and I think that thFis was because I had to realise that I still wanted to live or something.
This really happened, and it was a power / force / feeling I have never experienced in my whole life, it was like god saying to me, I am here for you, I am a real person, you don’t have to doubt my existence any longer.
Are there any Christians or people familiar with anything that has happened to me. I feel great it happened and in a way privileged, and I am now going to live life the way I should have been living it.

Thanks for sharing this experience, friend. It takes courage to expose oneself to possible ridicule. I have not had such an experience but know that the day I got down on my knees to confess to God, he gave me peace and a purpose in life that I've never turned back on. More importantly, he's never turned back on me.
You may never get such a feeling again. Don't go seeking for it! Just praise God for it, and learn to pray several times a day so that his still, small voice will become your guide. Read the Bible regularly, finding out all you can about Jesus, and ask God to lead you to a church of his choosing. If your drinking has made you feel ill, you're likely drinking far too much, so ask God for help to deal with that. Even if you only indulge occasionally, but with rather a lot, ask for God's guidance. Get serious with God and he'll give you every encouragement to pursue him. As the 1st shorter Catechism says in answer to the question, 'What is man's chief end [purpose]?' 'Man's chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy him forever.' May you be so blessed.

I had the same experience although I was at a baptism service not in bed, but God reveals Himself to us in different ways and when we ask Him to. Yes what you felt was the real presence of God, through the Holy Spirit. The day I got my call from Him I gave my life to Jesus and I have never regretted it.
Accept Jesus into your life, sounds like He is waiting to be your friend too! Then you will need to talk to other christians, and ask God to guide you to a church . I really enjoy the new frontiers churches, they are lively and friendly, check out the website on

Sounds amazing! But it does NOT mean that you have to dash out and buy a bible and become another of the Indoctrinated. Think, and believe for yourself what this powerful event might have been, and if you think that it was some sort of greater force communicating with you, then great! If you want to try and dedicate your life to this force, and maybe live in a more loving, giving and spiritual way, go for it. It doesn't mean you have to become affiliated with christianity or any other religion. I don't think god is a christian, muslim, buddhist, jew or whatever. God is, and just wants you to know that. Good luck, be happy and spread the LOVE (it's probably about the only good thing we've got going for us!)

I'm almost at a loss of words for this situation, but I'll give it my best shot! Being home alone together late at night can be a comfortable thing, but if you're feeling awkward about it, it most definitely isn't. When you do this, it can put you in all sorts of situations that you really shouldn't be pressed into. One, your shirt being taken off. He has no right to persuade you into doing anything you aren't ready for yet, especially in an early relationship. As for the touching you while asleep, I'm completely against. It's one thing if you're not comfortable with it awake, but him doing it to you while asleep is practically molestation. If I were in your shoes, I'd find a way to talk with him alone and straight forward tell him you aren't okay with anything sexual yet. Tell him the truth. You aren't ready for him to stay over that late, nor ready to let him touch you in certain areas. Set reasonable boundaries for yourself and stop immediately if the actions ever get out of hand again. If he can't respect you for your decisions, maybe you shouldn't be with this guy after all.

You may have experienced the Holy Spirit. Continue to pray and search for understanding. If this were truly of God, it will come to you why this happened. Even if it were alcohol induced, bringing you to an understanding of what and who God really is is a good thing.

Congratulations, you've just been given the opportunity to start life over again. You can begin by living a life that you can be proud of. Get yourself a Bible and find a Bible teaching Church. Ask questions of the Pastor. Talk to him. Tell him what happened and how you felt. You're on your way. The best to you. I'll say my prayers for you.

I have known other people that had similar experiences and I urge you not to listen to people that want you to dismiss it as a product of drinking or anything else. God can (and does) reveal himself to people in so many ways but only when they are open to accepting it. As he promises, if you seek, you will find. In his wisdom, he knows that if a person isn't open to accepting an experience as evidence of his existence, that they will not believe even the most blatant demonstration from him.
Welcome to the reality of God's love for you...keep your eyes (and heart) open and he'll continue to give you hugs for the rest of your life.

many years ago when i was 14 yrs old i was crossing the road with a friend when a car which was on the wrong side of the road hit both of us. it tossed us up into the air but as we were in the air i found myself standing on the edge of the road watching myself and my friend as we tossed into the air, as i came down i hit my head on a bus . we both walked away with just a few minor injuries. i can only describe it as an outer body experience and that it wasn't my time to go. i thank the lord for letting me live and to go on to have a wonderful family of my own. since then i have experienced many different unexplained times. i guess he keeps us safe in his hands until it really is our time....

i've felt that before right after watching passion of Christ. i went to bed and bawled my eyes out but it was a feeling of remorse and sadness for ignoring Him. i felt like i was soo safe and overwhelmed with something i cannot explain. it was beautiful. it changed me.
