How to make a really good chocolate pie?

My brother in law made a really good chocolate pie but it was kinda runny. He used sweetened cond. milk and real chocolate powder and it was delicious but it didn't set up. Any ideas?

I made a German Chocolate Pie once. The first one set up perfectly but the second one didn't. I think I just didn't cook it long enough. Was his pie one where you cook the pudding on the stove or in the pie shell? If in the pie shell - maybe he needed to cook it longer like I did (I finished mine up in the microwave because I didn't know what else to do). If it's one where you make the pudding on the stove, the only thing I can think of might be that he didn't cook it long enough and then put it hot in the fridge and covered it.
