i am to have a total hysterectomy for ca of the uterus and cervix, monday and my cousin calls me and tells me its nothing and to get over it. she says i dont have nothing but a messed up cell. she showed no concern at all, and i felt so very hurt. why would she treat me like this when we were close since age 6. all the attention is always on her.

Probably that is why she said it. If the attention is not on her, she is putting you in your place. She is not a caring person. Perhaps you see her in another light and decide she is not one you want to be close to.

You "thought " you have been close since age six. She obviously doesn't feel the same about you as you do her. She's afraid that now people will pay more attention to you and she can't stand it. I'm sorry this happened to you It is something and you can't just "get over it". .I think when or any time your cousin calls again I would not have time to talk. Good luck!

She's scared for you and herself...
Hysterectomy is no laughing matter...it hurts when all those muscles are cut and you try to move around but you do what you're told and THINK POSSITIVE and you will come out of it OK...Find a good cd to listen to distract you from the whole thing...Music is a good healing tool. ...your cousin sounds like She has problems dealing with it...

I suspect that she is trying very hard to put your mind at ease. I doubt very much that she is indifferent to your feelings or condition. People don't always understand the severity of a person's medical condition also.
I wouldn't worry about her desire for attention; you are going to have more attention than you can stand soon enough.

She sounds like a lout, if she is always that way why do you ever talk to her. Don't let her make your feel worse, make your day by changing your phone number and telling people to only give it out with your permission.

Shes obviously self centered
and doesnt think about anyone besides herself.
or maybe shes really scared for you and is covering
up her real emotions with anger.
you dont need her around though at times like this.
