There is a Hess gas station in Fuquay-Varina, NC on Hwy 55 that I always get gas at.
For the past 4-5 weeks it has been at $2.59 per gallon for regular.
I passed it today and it was $2.69 per gallon for regular. Up 10 cents.
It was $2.59 for a long time, why is it higher now?

The other gas stations round it went up 20 cents. They are $2.79 per gallon.

In the last couple of weeks the scumbags at the oil companies let the reserves run low so the price would rise. The supplies were at their lowest ever. There's a handful of idiots commonly refered to as "Corporate America" looking to scam the public every time a crisis comes along. Most people forget that we were under $2.00 a gallon before Hurricane Katrina swept the Gulf Coast.

The latest rapification (new word for rape I invented) of America, according to the evening news, was the two hurricanes that went through Central America. They used the hurricanes as an excuse to hike the prices. We were up to $3.25 a gallon here in Indiana and we were still around $3.12 yesterday.

Good Luck!

cheap gas over here is roughly 2.79 a gallon, with premium almost 3 bucks. it went up here by about 8 cents. supposedly, there's 'shortages' at the refineries. better get used to high gas prices. it isnt going to go back to the 'good old days' of gas being under 2 a gallon.

Because the oil company execs need to buy expensive X-mas gifts for their families.
That and some BS about switching the refineries over to winter blend fuel.

It is because we live in an over-capitalist society where everything revolves around money. So somebody thinks they can get away with ripping people off and they will.
