Besides Amtrac? You'd have to check with the local Hobo's who knwo the freight train schedules. This is a mass transit challegened country we live in here.

You might hop a commuter jet for the best, cheapest, fastest travel. You'll have to wait another 100 years to see the trains come back and take over the mass transit when the fuel crisis pushes a gallon of jet or diesel fuel to $50.

Good Luck!

I doubt there's other passenger rail lines that depart from New York City, to anywhere in The State Of Kentucky other than Amtrak, Long Island Rail Road or Metro-North Commuter Railroad or you could catch a Greyhound, Coach USA or some other bus line that departs from The Port Authority Bus Terminal.

The Amtrak Cardinal and Hoosier State routes come closest. They stop in Cincinnati and several other stations on the Ohio side of the Ohio River. There's no service into KY.

The City of New Orleans stops in Fulton, KY, but that's on a line from New Orleans to Chicago...not New York.
