I'm a lender on Prosper. You can try to get a loan there, but your chances aren't great if you are high risk and have a history of delinquincies, and especially if you have current delinquincies. You need to make sure you present an honest listing, with a full accounting off all your income and expenses. Don't fudge your numbers- lenders are pretty quick to be able to decipher a realistic budget. There is also a message board with a "Review My Listing" forum that might get you some extra attention for your listing. The website encourages you to join a group, but beware, if you join a group with a bad reputation among lenders, that will scare many away also. The star system is a joke right now and lenders don't use that to gauge a good group. Bottom line- it sure doesn't hurt to try.

Its a trustworthy lending source, that is really a pioneer in this market space. Its just private people that put up the money for you to borrow, to make a higher rate of return than they would in a savings account or CD. You should give it a try.
