Well i think men do that too but i guess it really has to do with maturity. If your mature and you are one with reality you don't fall for that at all. Also i think bedtime stories, movies and the culture focus on love-at-first-sight-i'll-die-without-you romatic affairs and i guess some women see that and believe in it. I sure as hell don't i gotten beaten up by that too many times to fall for it. But it really all comes down to maturity and knowing what the possibilities of real situations are.

I dont think its really LOVE at first sign but I have found that the most meaningful relationships I have had in my life started with me getting all flustered the first time I saw the guy. Maybe women are able to size up a man pretty quick and know if they are boyfriend material or not within a few minutes.

OK. I do agree with you -You do grow to love but when people (or should I say women since it seems that we are the once charged as guilty) say fall in love at first sight, they don't mean they are in love. It's just that something about the person attracts them- something about their personally shines. It's like when you go shopping- certain things might attract you more than others. FYI- I feel that it's B.S. when people say I knew he/she was the one from the moment I saw her/him but dude it's a way to be ROMANTIC because hey, how could you have possibly known? Somethings are not clear when talking about love-so I just deal...You sound pissed. What? Someone told you they fell in love with you at first sight......LOL.

I think it works both ways dude...love isn't that simple. Some people fall for a person, some people grow to love a person and yet some know straight away that that's the one. Love is to complex a subject and feeling

A lot of us know that you cannot emotionally love someone just from setting eyes on them...and some dudes believe in first sight love too so don't "why the hell do women" us (makes you appear foolish to blanket statement billions of people)...your question should be "Why do some PEOPLE..."
Why does it obviously annoy you if some misconstrue lust for love? Calm down...

chemically the same reaction occurs in the brain when you see someone or something you "love" as when you actually see someone you love so this is why people confuse the two. it really isn't something for you to get all up in arms about. if you feel that you can distinguish the two then good for you. not everyone takes love as seriously as the rest of us. i have guys tell me all the time that they love me after just a few days or a week of dating and i have to remind them that they are just lusting for me. no big deal man. chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiilllll.

Not all women believe in that! There are some who believe in it and thats fine as people are allowed their own opinions otherwise what world would we be in but you can't say "why do women"
You could only say that if you knew every single woman on the planet and they thought that but i know i can't fall in love till i know the person.
P.S: i also know men who believe in love at 1st site but know not all of them think that.

Well, I find myself pleading for someone to help me get up all the time, due: to falling.. BUT love is not a fall.... much rather a 'HIgh' ahhhhhh !....Realistically speaking, I wouldn't say by sight nor by fall........BLAHHHHHH!
