Absolutely!
Just check with the priest/pastor of that parish and clear it with them first.

Unfortunately, with the Catholic Church the priest performing the ceremony must be a Catholic priest - and since he is your fiance's father, that just isn't possible. However, most priests will allow him to stand at the altar and do some sort of blessing. He will not be able to perform the actual ceremony though.

The Roman Catholic Church *DOES* let married men become priests, under certain circumstances. There are many in the Marionite and Melcite rites, for example. In the U.S., there are several in the Roman rite as well - usually married clergy from other Christian traditions who convert to Catholicism. This decision is made by the local bishop. I have a friend who was a Baptist preacher, and he wanted to become a priest when he converted to Catholicism, but the bishop said it wasn't a good idea because his wife was vehemently anti-Catholic. If she had been converting also, it would have been a different story.

hmmmm.... are you sure that a deacon can perform a ceremony? I thought that a deacon was a sort of layperson. And is he a part of the Catholic faith?
You will HAVE to talk to the Pastor of the church because it is REALLY up to him.

Usually.
If the deacon is from another diocese then he will have to get permission from the bishop. This is usually just a formality.
Talk to your parish priest or wedding coordinator about the situation.
With love in Christ.

*Is Catholic*
You may be married by a deacon but you will not be able to have a Nuptial Mass, as a deacon is not a priest.
The deacon will need permission from his priest to perform the ceremony.
May your marriage be blessed.

It will all depend on their congregation and what their specific rules will allow. He may be able to co-officiate the ceremony, if he cannot perfom it himself. The catholic church can be strict with rules. Speak to your Priest before making any plans.
