I've been wondering how many people who use the Religion and Spirituality section on Yahoo Answers have any religious or spiritual beliefs. I'd put this question in Polls and Surveys but this is the group I'd like to hear from.

I'm sending this to Voting. I didn't think it would be fair for me to pick a Best Answer because I would pick someone with beliefs similar to my own. Thanks to all who answered. I tried to sum up the results. Some of the 36 answers didn't fit into a neat little category:
Christian - 19
None - 6
Believe in God - 3
Atheist - 2
Agnostic - 1
Islam - 1
Paganism - 1
???? - 2

Hmmm a very interesting question, with a variety of interesting answers.

I for one have studied various religious belief systems (Christian) however it seems to me that while each have their own virtues, they are contaminated with faults and the "Devil". That is one of the teachings of the Mormons, a little bit of lies hidden in a large serving of the truth. The SDA would seem to believe much the same. Allowing even a small amount of deceit into any religious system can nullify all the good the system has acomplished. Many of the other Protestant Churches will go along with various forms of Baptism other then total emersion, Such as the Baptists, Mormon and SDA follow. This was prescribed by Jesus himself in the Bible. However following that which was started by the Roman Church various forms of sprinkling water on the head now passes as the Lord's doctrine.

Continue on threw all of the various groups offering worship up to the Lord and Savoir of mankind, there rapidly appears all manner of man made contamination. The question of course becomes which one to choose to follow. The answer proposed by many students of the question, is which ever one fits the person. So be it....

I am attempteting to learn the best of all the teachings and compare with how the Lord agrees or disagrees with the aspect, and incorporate only the best in to my religious belief system.

"As for me and my House Hold" ... oopps Johsua said that... well for me , I call my self (with some hummor in mind) a Jedi-Christian. In other words, I wish to follow the "LIGHT side of the FORCE".....

submited for what it is worth.

I would find the results of this question informative...

My first and most important religious belief is that a person's relationship, or lack of relationship, with the Divine is one of the most personal and sacred of all relationships. As such, it is not subject to judgement or censure by others. The only exception is when religious practices harm others, and the law must intervene. And even then, what the person believes is fine with me. It's what they choose to do, how they act, that might be inappropriate.

I believe in a Divine Creator. I call Him God, because that's a concept with which most people can relate. In truth, I don't think of the Creator as a nice old man with a white robe. I think of Him as something more elemental, like goodness and benevolence and light and love all rolled into one.

I believe that organized religion is not for me. I was raised to follow an organized religion, and I left it as a teenager, but I have no problem with people who follow a set path. I believe that all religions, when boiled down to bare bones, say essentially the same thing, and that that is especially true for the three major monotheistic faiths. I believe the reason for that is because the Creator spoke to different people at different times through different prophets. I have no problem with people who follow a set path, as long as that path makes them happy, and helps them be a better person. If it brings them closer to the Creator, that's a bonus. For me, it's simply easier to skip the middleman and go straight to the source, so to speak.

My personal beliefs are hard to pin down, but they relate most closely to Christianity. That is because I believe that Jesus Christ was an incredible and important teacher. I try to keep Him in mind when I make decisions and act, as I would like to try to be like Him.

I believe that when we leave this life, our spirits continue on someplace else. I believe that we are here to learn as much as possible, and that that learning process continues after we leave here. I try not to shirk from learning hard lessons because I believe I will have to learn them sooner or later, and I may as well learn them here. Since I believe we are all on this adventure together, I try and help others out on their journey if I can.

I believe a lot of other things, as well, but I also believe I have already rambled on too long, and that it's time for me to wrap this up.

Thank you for asking the question so plainly, and allowing me to read what other people have on their minds, and in their hearts.

I believe in God. By God I mean an Ultimately good and forgiving god that will cure and educate all that can be saved when they die.

I believe in science. It has way to many proofs and evidence not to believe in it. Even if some of the theories were based on a faulty understanding do to the lack of information at hand.

I believe in good and trying to help out my fellow person to the best of my abilities where and when I can.

I believe in love and understanding. Not just judging a person or saying a person deserves something without knowing that person or the effect of that treatment on that person.

I believe in life after death. Just because I can. I like the idea of continuing on in one form or another.

I believe in letting others have their own beliefs and learning about them. To learn about others beliefs is to learn more about yourself. To let others have different beliefs gives you the right to have your own.

I believe I have gone on long enough on this list and should shut up now. Have a good life. May it be happy and fulfilling.

It's a MIRACLE! Contact the Office of Miracles! Huh? What? Oh, my cat informs me that we're on hold (actually, music on hold) waiting to get thru.

I have LOTS of religious and/or spiritual beliefs. Which ones, in particular, are of interest to you?

Oh, and let's not forget the Yak (pbuh).

I have a lot! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a.k.a Mormon.
These are the basics:
I believe we are all sons and daughters of God, our Heavenly Father. I believe that before we came to this earth, we existed as spirit children with our Heavenly Parents and chose to come to earth to receive a body, have mortal experiences and prove our worth to gain back our Father's presence. I believe there are certain things we must do in this life to gain exaltation in the highest of our Father's kingdoms - the Celestial. I believe Jesus Christ is my personal Savior and Savior of all mankind and that through the atonement, we can repent and be forgiven of our sins. I believe in modern revelation, prophets, the Book of Mormon, the Bible, the Doctrine & Covenants, the power of the Holy Priesthood, eternal marriage and family...
There is much more but that is the basic of what I believe, if you want to know more, go to mormon.org or LDS.org

you be attentive to what they meant. They have been announcing why could somebody shape their finished existence around a series of ideals that hasn't been shown. that's what they meant by ability of favourite. shown. Having info to help the claims of the religion. and that i trust them. that's a query i've got in lots of circumstances puzzled. There should not be a catalogue through fact if those religions have been shown, they does not remember on theory. It does not could desire to be shown which you would be able to have faith in it, yet all and sundry is going to ask your self why you base your existence off of those ideals once you don't be attentive to if your ideals are in keeping with reality or basically memories. you may have faith that they have been actual, yet you wont ever be attentive to. basically a wierd thank you to rule your existence.

Raised a devout Catholic, became a new-ager and became heavily involved in the occult, experienced evil to the core, then gave my life over to Jesus Christ in desperation. I am now a Born Again Christian and have a joy and a peace that surpasses human understanding, even in the midst of difficulties.
