Sentra is an economy car 30 miles a gallon not a fast mountain climber or fast anything. If you want fast buy a sports car like a 350Z and I bet you will not have any problems climbing mountains with 306 hp vs 120 for a Sentra.

What kind of budget are you on? An engine swap or forced induction (turbos, superchargers) would be the only way to make your car significantly faster than stock. Stuff like intakes and exhausts will give you at the most 3-7 more HP which you won't really notice.

MJ has no idea what he is talking about. Like Ted said, either an engine swap or F/I. I would suggest F/I, as I've seen this setup successfully on these cars. Beware a shorter engine life, and an empty wallet. Your best bet would be upgrade the car all together, and get one with more low end torque for mountain driving. possibly a 3.5 altima.

You can get some performance parts directly from Nissan at a dealership. If you have the 1.8 liter model there's not much you can do. It's kind of a gutless car.

If you want to go faster with good gas milage I would suggest a n/a tunned sentra; For example nothing that kills gas such as turbo kits, turbo chargers, manual turbo controllers headers or superchargers. You should use a frontmount intercooler a cold air intake electronic fuel injecters high voltage spark pluges a full Nismo exochse package high performance tires any brand there all almost alike and to top it off a dual plate clutch to improve accelleration bye shorting your shift time with a faster and smoother transsmission.your lookin at 400-500hp and a little under $12,000 but if you really need speed
than thats the way to do it.
