My cats are in the process of swiching to the new diet.... 2 love it, 2 hate it...but I don't care they are eating it. Please do your resaech about it and to start buy it from your holistic pet food stroe. You will have to buy a digestive enzyme to help them with the switch and multi vitamins. The holistic store should carry everything you will need.

One of my cats has had chronic diarreah all summer, she has been to the vets, on this med and that med. Since I have switched her and it has only been since last sunday she doesn't have diarreah and her coat looks like she has just been brushed!!! Yeah!!! it is as good as everyone thinks it is.
Do your cats a favor and do this for her. I have 4 and yes it is a little more costly and time consuming but I am pleased.

We had a cat that ate 9lives tuna and cheese all her life...that's all she would eat. At 16 she was switched to salmon and she looked better at 16 than she did at 12 and she lived until 22.

We had another cat that ate liver 5 times a week and he lived until her was 21.

We had another cat that ate table scrappings with his commercial foods and lived to 23. (Table scrappings are not that great!)

The other cats that we had only ate commercial foods and none of them lived past 13.

So I have switched my cats and I am very happy that I switched. Just switch over a week and your cat should be fine. You might have to get creative to coax them in to eating it (like mixing it with canned tuna in water).
Good luck and your cat health will thank you for it!

The short answer is YES. But just know that you can't just toss them meat and call it a day. It must be properly balanced.

If this is something you want to learn more about, go to Yahoo Groups and search for raw feeding. There are several groups out there. All have their own philosophy about the best way to feed raw, so you'll be able to choose which method best suits you.

But long story short, feeding a properly balanced raw meat diet is the very best thing you can do for your kitten. Or adult cat.

I give raw ground turkey to ours in the morning, and don't let it stay out of the fridge for more than half an hour or it's disposed of. The store near here has 1 pound tubes flash frozen, I thaw it in the fridge, and slice off about 1/3 cup for the three cats who like it, microwave the meat till it's room temperature and then set it down on a plate.

The meat has to be FRESH. Older stuff has bacteria and can cause a problem.

You'll get a wide variety of answers to this one. Go with what makes sense to you. I have ordered a book to help me make my cat's food. I would generally be afraid of worms or bacteria in raw meat. I say warm it up a little at least! ;-)

Here are two books and a good website

do so in moderation, just as an occasional treat and not just raw meat for their regular diet. too much could hurt the kitty.

I would cook it first so the cat would not get sick from it.
