Commonalities:

Both believe in God.
Both believe in Abraham and Moses.
Both can't eat pork.
Both can't drink alcohol.
Both eat this same kind of meat (Halal/kosher meat)

Differences:

Jews don't believe that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was a prophet.
Muslims pray 5 times a day where as Jews pray 3 times a day.

Well they're both Semetic peoples. Arab and Hebrew are linguistic cousins, decended from a common ancestor language.

Edit: *Arabic* not Arab

Edit 2: And yes, I realize not all Muslims are Arabic (Now), but it was started in Arabic nations by Arabs, and later spread. Its holy books are written in Arabic, so in any real sense, Islam is an Arabic religion.

Main difference. Judaism values life. Islam values death. Any similarities are due to the fact that Mohammed modelled much of Islamic practice after the practices of the Jews of Medina....who he then unceremoniously massacred for not converting to his new religion.

um Hope, Jews can drink alcohol though Kosher is much more strict than Halal.
