please please take him to the doctor for the recommended tests. It could be nothing, or a recurring boil, or it could be a terrible sinus infection that is deep in his sinuses, or a polyp (beign cyst)...ALL these require medical attention. Remember - please - the sinuses are SO close to the brain and the membranes seperating the two are as thin as paper. If it is an infection, you MUST as a parent address it responsibly so he can be well.
Do he have other symptoms, like headache, or sore throat? These could be related to sinus or other drainage problems. Before it happens at school and they call the health department (sometimes these things can be very contagious staff infections, which you could spread inter-family and within the class), you have an URGENT need to find out what's wrong. You were right to take him to the doctor - now, please follow through before you have bigger issues from ignoring it. (PS to be a parent is to be afraid, dear. We're all just trying to do our best. Ignoring this will NOT make it better, but possibly a great deal worse). Good luck and good health to you all.

I used to have this - when I'd cry, wash my face, or sometimes for no reason, my nose would just bleed. Some nosebleeds would last for 30 minutes and were gushing. I went to the ENT and it was due to rhinitis. Rhinitis is basically when the linings of the nasal passages get too dry and they crack. This can be resolved on the basic level of nasal spray and neosporin. I had to get my left nostril cauterized because of this. The last straw was when I got a bloody nose on a roller coaster. I hope that his problem is as simple as this! Good luck!

Don't jump to conclusions too quickly.
My son had the same problem. He was always bleeding, sometimes in his sleep. The problem was that he had fragile blood vessels in his nostrils. I finally had them cauterize it when he turned 11. It was an easy and painless procedure.
But in addition .....
I agree with one of the comments made above.
"Pray"
But not only for this nose bleeding but for everything. One thing that you will always find comfort in everyday life is to Pray. Pray for your child(ren) Everyday even if they look and feel healthy. Pray that God keeps them safe and healthy always.
Hopefully, this nose bleeding will not be anything dangerous.

My friend gets nose bleeds from playing computer games too long and also not sleeping for long times, i guess people can have these symptoms from many things, but if it is, as you say, with physical activities then it may be a physical problem

Causes?
He's picking his nose out of anxiety,
he has weakened capillaries in his nostrils which may require cauterization,
he has elevated blood pressure with strenuous activities. Then again I'm no doc so let the physician do his thing.

When I was a kid (6-12) I had nosebleeds all the time, maybe several times a week. It gradually became less frequent as I got older. By the time I was 18, I had maybe one nosebleed a year.
It's no big deal unless he loses a LOT of blood.

Don't be afraid. The doctor only wants to see what is going on. It is possible that something is wrong with his nasal passage that is causing it to bleed so easily. Try to keep him from doing any heavy activities until he is seen by the doctor.

definitely do a blood test to make sure he doesn't have a clotting problem. the xray and endoscopy is just to make sure that structurally everything is ok. its better to check than not to. u don't want him to keep loosing blood and possibly become anemic. good luck

Please don't be afraid, just get it taken care of. People that I know of that have had a similar problem generally have a weak capillary that simply needs cauterizing to stop the bleeding.
Good luck to your son.
