Are you off your medication? There were no hit men, this had nothing to do with the resignation (remember Watergate) of Nixon and the Guard didn't have a clue as to what they were doing and all the bum raps Nixon got he mostly deserved. He was not a very nice man.

I was a college student when Kent State happened, my b/f was a student there, NO, it was NOT a conspiracy, blah blah blah. He was in the crowd, he was luckily not hurt, but he said that the Nat'l guard guys were young like them, They all were scared and panic set in. It was a horrible time, the war divided this country like not even the Civil War did, it brought about so much hatred. The country has never recovered from it. Even now, when we are so threatened by outside terrorists (and some inside ones) we look to tear the fiber of this country apart more, by these ridiculous stories.
Spend more time trying to unite the country, not divide it. OUR country may be far from perfect but it is the far from being the worse. Be thankful you live here and work to preserve it. Criticism is ok as long as it is constructive criticism.

How old are you? I was around when Kent state happened. The students got rambunctious and the National Guard panicked. If you study history there is a parallel; The Boston Massacre. In that incident the guards were punished, in Kent state they got off free. It had NOTHING to do with Nixon other than he was paranoid and could not stand anyone protesting his policies.

Well THIS is a new one! A reverse conspiracy theory? Take the 9/11 Twin Towers "government demolition project," turn it around, and you get four dead in Ohio to make the President look bad. What will they think of next?

Not even close. Today we know that the order to fire came from high up.
We are talking about Nixon here, the guy who wanted to nuke Viet Nam. That is a terrorist.
Whoa! I see people talking about the shooting as though it had been an accident. Don't you people read the news?

Kent State Massacre Tape: 'Get Set! Point! Fire!'
Survivors of the 1970 massacre at Kent State are calling on officials to reinvestigate what happened on May 4 1970 when the National Guard shot four students dead at an anti-war rally. On Tuesday, one of the survivors – Alan Canfora – released an audio tape from the day of the shootings. Canfora said by closely listening you can hear a National Guard officer issue the command "Right Here, Get Set! Point! Fire!" Following the command, the sounds of shots being fired can be heard. The FBI has never determined whether an order to shoot was given. Eight members of the National Guard were acquitted of federal civil rights charges four years after the shootings. Canfora said the reel-to-reel audio recording was made by a student on campus.

Even if you read the reports by the students you will see your statement is a joke and so ignorant of events. It was the guard who got out of hand to student rumblings, bad information, etc. Don't spread conspiracy when you have no facts.

No. They were shot by young National Guardsmen who had no experience with riots or combat and whose line of command communication broke down in the middle of it all. History Channel did a good analysis of it.
Besides, Nixon already looked bad enough from the stuff he did himself. He didn't need any help.

It was filmed live, and was clearly the act of nervous National Guardsmen, a tragic and unfortunate stress related action.
With regards W.I. none of what you "Quote" are even military commands. the tape could be anybody or a recent fabrication.
The poster is a troll! not only that he was not even born when it happened.

I can only hope you are joking. The National Guard was as much a bunch of screw-ups then as they are today in WV.
