I heard a Doctor say that eating too many carrots will turn your skin slightly orange. And it takes months for the pigment to go away. Has anybody else ever heard this?

yes, it is true...(I don't know about months but it does turn your skin orange...)
The carrot gets its characteristic orange colour from β-carotene, which on consumption by humans is metabolised into vitamin A. Massive overconsumption of carrots can cause hypercarotenemia, a condition in which the skin turns orange (although this is superior to overdose effects of vitamin A, which can cause liver damage). Carrots are also rich in dietary fibre, antioxidants, and minerals.

Lack of Vitamin A can cause poor vision, and better vision can be restored by adding Vitamin A back into the diet. A common urban legend in part based on this is that carrots aid a human being's night vision. It is believed that disinformation introduced in 1940 by John "Cat's Eyes" Cunningham during the Battle of Britain was an attempt to cover up the discovery and use of radar technologies. It reinforced existing German folklore and helped to encourage children to eat the vegetable.

French women have known for years that eating carrots (or drinking carrot juice) gives their skin a nice glow, unlike the pale skins of some of their English sisters. Unless you eat nothing but carrots, it is not likely to harm you. It would just be boring. My friend drinks a large glass of carrot juice every morning.

Yes I sure have, sometimes babies that have been fed to much with carrot products in them will turn orange'ish. Have heard it for years so without sounding like the total authority Ive assumed it to be true.

Yes, the doctor is correct. In an adult it would take a lot, and I mean a LOT, over an extended period of time, but this happens pretty often with babies if parents feed them lots of carrots, sweet potatoes, etcetera.

Yes, I've heard that.
I've also heard that if someone has light-colored hair it can also turn hair orange.

I've never heard that.

I wonder when is it considered too much. One a day or ten a day.
