Jack is one of the many whiskeys which may be mixed with soda (Jack & Coke etc.) but only because it's so vile tasting on its own. Charcole? Who wants charcole in their mouth? A good double malt Scotch or Irish whisky (no "e" for the good stuff) is a world of difference.

Apparently it's the best selling whiskey in the world. The only thing better than Jack Daniels are some of the expensive Scottish malts, well all of them actually but they're too damn expensive. Even some standard Scottish blends give ol Jack a run for his money. The JD flavour is unique (at least to me). I'm no expert on whisky but I know what I like. Although it's American I can't help but think of it as Irish due to the whole whiskEY thing. It's often described as a bourbon rather than a whiskey. Wikipedia states. Although the product generally meets the regulatory criteria for classification as a straight bourbon, the company disavows this classification and markets it simply as Tennessee whiskey rather than as Tennessee bourbon. Started drinking Jack Daniels when I was about 19, with coca cola. My first bottle still sits in my house and serves as a candle holder. Later in life I discarded the coca cola and that's where Jack Daniels is at it's best. I give Jack Daniels 9/10 on Dave's scale of whiskey goodness. On another note, Jack Daniels coffee was a real let down. I was looking forward to that but didn't enjoy it at all. I think someone just chucked some charcoal into the coffee grounds. Pfffftt, what a waste.

alright, a few options for ya
1. drink it out of the bottle
2. use it for shots, and use a dark soda, as in Coca~Cola, as a chaser to get it down better
3. or you can mix it in a cup with Coke or Pepsi, i prefere coke, it taste much better mixed with coke.
Depending on how strong u want it is how much jack to add.

that stuff sneaks up on you. when i was 18, 2 buddies and i paid a guy to buy us a 5th of J.D. we went to a local park and passed the bottle around (ghetto style as previously mentioned) until it was gone. i was feeling just a little buzzed until i got up off the bleachers to take a leak and fell flat on my face!

It's a'sippin' whiskey'. I prefer it neat, with a water back. Save the sodas for the kiddies at the picnic!

Drink it any way you like. On the rocks, neat, or go ghetto style and drink it straight out the bottle. With a paper sack around it, of course.
