Use your own interpretation of this and don't rely on what other people will tell you it is. Self awareness can lead you to the same place Jesus was - he is a great example of the potential within all of us...he did not want to be worshiped.
Questioning the bible will lead you further to your own revealing truths as you uncover more misinterpretations and contradictions.

Life is the Father in you. Not the story super-imposed on top of the life. Jesus said I and the Father are one. Be Still and Know I AM GOD is the statement of the inward look. Without the thoughts to color you may glimpse the magnitude of the LIFE that you really are.

Luke 17:20-21
Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
This is a horrible translation. "the Kingdom of God is within you" should properly be written "the Kingdom of God is within your midst".
He was talking to those (the Pharisees) who were so far from the truth, that they were accusing the work of the Holy Spirit as of Satan. Obviously, God was not "within them". Jesus was saying that they keep looking for the kingdom here and there (see preceding verses), but they did not know that Jesus Himself was the kingdom come in the flesh right there before their very eyes.
He also said that they search the scriptures thinking that within the scriptures they would find eternal life, but in reality, the scriptures testified of Him. HE was the source of eternal life, and HE was the kingdom that had come upon them.
There are many examples to confirm this. Here is one in Matthew 12:28 Jesus said, "If I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you."
