Okay! Maybe I'm strange but I think everyone deserves a chance.
If they're immediately disrespectful they get blocked. If they just give an add request or 'flirt', 'hi' 'sup' 'wink' on 360 with no further detail, they get what they deserve i.e. ignored.
If they're flirty in a harmless sort of way they get flirty back in a harmless sort of flirty way but the minute they take it ANY further they get told the score if they still insist they get the cold shoulder.
The slightly creepy one's I go a little deeper with. Usually slightly creepy = shyness or some other sort of self conscious behaviour or 'mental health' disorder, so they don't get any of the above because they ain't used to socialising on that level. So they get my undivided attention. 'Needy' is 'needy' for a reason, and that need tends to be acceptance rather than attention. I take them at face value and respond accordingly. So for example if they say 'you're lovely' I say thank you. If they say 'I would like to meet you' I say that that would be inappropriate. If they say 'I love you' I say well that's very nice of you to say so but I don't because I don't know you'. etc., i.e. u don't need to be nasty but do need be 'real' with them. Don't humour them. Be assertive but kind.

Well, if you're creeped out by it, politely decline and block the offender. Personally being a guy, I'd let the lady make the first move if the conversation goes that way. Its not something to obsess over.

At first I'm polite & tell them I'm not interested, that I'm happily married, etc.
If they continue to be obnoxious & creepy, I first threaten to block them, and then I do it.
There are too many fun people on the 'net to be dragged down by the creepies.

Give me his postal address and I'll send the boys round to deal with him for ya. :P
Seriously though, as far as things go, on-line is easy. You either block him, don't respond or flat out tell him. Most sites (like this one) have a Reporting option. If you consider what he's doing or could do as harassment, then notify someone.

That's a good use for the "block user" feature. Those types do tend to gravitate toward forums like this.
