i agree with the dangly earings.
im having a baby girl in november and am piercing her ears at 1-2months old.
i got my ears pierced that young too as well as a lot of other siblings in my family. i guess it all depends on beliefs and opinions...............
so when you see a grade schooler with their ears pierced they probably and most likely got their ears pierced when they were babies... im surprised you havent heard of that.

Everyone's opinion on this differs. I personally had my ears first pierced at age 7. This was normal when I was growing up. Some people have their babies' ears pierced, some let their little girls wait until it is their own choice (as in grade-school), and some girls get it done even later. I don't think it's something that has a right or wrong answer. It depends on the personal preference.

Personally, i think ear piercing is not really a big deal especially for girls. my daughter had her ears pierced at 4 months and had post earings in. Now i dont change her earings often, nor do i let her get big hoops or fancy colors like older girls wear. Now if a boy gets his ears pierced at a young age, i believe i'd have a problem with that because boys think it has a meaning to it.

For a girl, they get their ears pierced from birth and up.My daughter was 6 when she got hers done and doesn't have a problem. However i feel that boys should be older, say 10+
before they make the decision. You can always take it out and let the hole grow over. It's not like a tattoo that won't go away.

I have two daughters...With the older one I got her ears pierced when she was two and it was not a good experience at all, the earring back got stuck in the gun and the person who did it was trying to pull it out and my daughter was screaming bloody murder---it was just awful. With my second daughter I refused to get hers done, when she comes to me and says that she wants her ears pierced then we will go and have it done but not before then. I really think that parents should wait and let their kids decide when and if to do it

I had my daughter's ears pierced when she was 8 months old, and I've never had a problem with them. She also wears the kind of earrings with screw-on backings, so they're harder to fall out or be ripped out, but I've never had an issue, and she's almost three. I think if they've had them from a young age, they don't have many issues.

Personally, I think the girl needs to be old enough to take care of the piercings by herself. I think 12 is a good age. I was 12 when I had my ears pierced.

I don't think it's too young on girls but yes for boys.. I don't even know why parents pierce their boys ears. But I don't see a problem with it for girls..my girls had their ears pierced since they were 5 months old I think. Any other piercings besides the ears, yes it is too young, in my opinion.

Getting their ears pierced is nothing these days. My son got his ear pierced when he was 5 because he wanted to. I don't see a problem with it. I think you have to draw the line somewhere, I wouldn't let a grade schooler get his nose, eyebrow, or other parts pierced, but what's wrong with ears?

I think it depends on the child. I think they need to be old enough to care for their own piercings. (cleaning, changing the earring, etc) If they can't do it on their own, they are probably too young. Also, if a child rough houses alot, this can cause injury on the playground. No need to go looking for trouble. I think a good rule of thumb is 13, but that is just my opinion. I see it as a kind of "right of passage" for little girls.
